Anyone taking letrozole (femara) instead of clomid?

Im currently taking Femara, and I love it so far, I am having none of the mood swings I had with clomid. really no side effects other then a mild headache on and off.

I used letrozole for my IUIs. No success. It does not give multiple follicles. I got maximum 2 but it did give me Lutinized unruptured follicle ie due to some hormonal imbalance the egg does not release from the follicle. It happened in 2 consecutive cycles and it never used to happen to me in unmedicated cyles. I used to ovulate normally every month. There r no major side effects. Just a little headache.

Gosh....I wish I'd read this thread before seeing my doctor last week. Started cycle 2 of clomid last Friday (cycle 1 was in March and a collosal failure....not sure if it was because it was combined with HMG injectibles or not...but I overstimulated....had a uterus full of fluid....needless to say, it wasn't successful). So I'm on 100mg of clomid (only) this cycle.

But after reading this thread, if this cycle doesn't work out, I will surely be asking for femara instead!

I am on Femara too and I take 5mg. I started one month on 2.5mg and it didn't work. So my fs moved me to 5mg. I take mine CD 3-7. It has worked for me twice. I am TTC#3 on the same dose.

I also used femara 5mg for my #2 IUI (Femara/puregon & trigger shot) which i did last wednesday 18 august. I used 50mg clomid before as i ovulate on my own but it didn't help me as i only produced 1 mature follie with clomid whereas this month was the first time that i produced 2 mature follies on injections (18mm & 19mm) so i'm keeping my fingers cross that #2 will be the charm for us.

My hubby's sperm was 75% motility

My test date will be 3rd September and hubby doesn't want me to test before this date that the nurse gave us, so i hope this 2ww will go quickly

Good luck for your IUI. Don't you find the injections so much easier as well?

No injections as far as I know, just tablets, & I assume they'll do the trigger shot? I hope so!!!
