......well as posts suggest has anyone tried black or blue cohosh to bring on labour ?? i have seen it suggested but wasnt sure if it was another myth :haha:

I am not ready to try anyun yet but i want to be armed with the rite tools when i do hit the wall ......so to speak xxx

I read this too but not really heard any success stories! Tbh, not even sure what it is!!!

My sis did, and it caused contractions, but she was not entirely ready, so it just caused her more misery than anything..Turns out, they were off on her due date by two weeks! Here she thought she was overdue, and she wasnt...that stuff is kinda scary to mess with..you really, really have to know what you are doing.

Just googled t and came up with this (bit scary i think):

The safety of black cohosh in pregnant or breastfeeding women or children hasn't been established. Black cohosh is sometimes used by nurse-midwives to induce labor, but it should never be used by a pregnant woman without supervision by a qualified healthcare provider because it could stimulate uterine contractions and result in miscarriage.

Well, that's if they do it too early..It will cause m/c. The dosage is the tricky part..I just would not mess with it unless I researched the heck out of it!

Think i'll be leaving mother nature to it! It just all seems a bit risky to be playing with lo's health for the sake of speeding things up by a day or so! x

its a herby type thing from holland and barret you put a few drops in a glass of water xxx didnt think ot would be that risky to try but glad i asked xxx

oh right! yeah i wouldnt have thought so either, being as its from holland and barratt! oh well lets hope your little one doesnt decide to be late :)x

What i have read says it ripens your cervix if you take it from 37 wks then you up the dose to 15drops under your tongue every hour to induce labour ..... hmmm mite do a bit more reading on this x xx x x

yeah reading about it wont hurt :) also just ask your midwife too at your next appointment, might be worth an ask x
