I am about 6 weeks away from finishing my Bachelor's and find myself going between B&B and research databases when I get the chance to be online. I probably should have posted in TTC Buddies, but I would particularly like to be buddies with someone who is ttc #1.

It is strange and exciting to think that I could be graduating and getting my BFP all around the same time. I am so ready for the next chapter in my life.

I am a bit of a late bloomer when it came to going to college, I'm rather newly 30 (though it is not as new as I would like), and decided to go back to school when I was 26. It has been a rough few years. I work full time too, so that makes it even harder. DH and I decided to add ttc to the list of things I am trying to accomplish last fall. I am a bit of an overachiever, so, my noncomplying uterus stresses me out a bit. It is hard to not be in control of my success (Does that makes sense?) I can write A papers all day long, but my body does not seem to want to make a baby.

Anyone else out there like me?

Hey :)
I'm 27, finished my two degrees Dec 2007 and am in a certificate program right now. So not exactly the same but I have two semesters left and I'll be done in December :)

We've just started ttc this month.

Thanks for replying!

What kind of certification are you working on? I am an English/Creative writing major working on my senior thesis (and a crazy statistics class that they decided I needed last minute :/). Lots of reading and researching. Luckily, it is on a topic I enjoy but I have baby making on the brain. Makes it tough to concentrate.

Are you doing anything to aid your ttc like temping or supplements? I don't do much other than track my cycles, and take a prenatal (and try to make sure DH takes his vitamin, a daily struggle). I read somewhere in that sunflower seeds can help, so, I added them to my salads everyday. Silly, I know. I have a feeling in a few weeks when school is finished and I need something to stress over (fingers crossed my BFP will come before this occurs), that I will be kicking it up a notch. Full on temping and obsessive opk poas-ing.

I hope you can take a more stress free approach :)

I'm not nearly as far as you are for sure, but I am in the middle of schooling. After making a heart-breaking choice to stop studying for veterinary technician I am now in school to become a nurse. I just finished up my first year of prerequisites and general education courses. Now all I have to do is apply to our local college's nursing program. The only problem is...this program is so unbelievably competitive. I knew 3 people last semester that applied, one got in. I am hoping my smarts are enough to get me in the first time. Then after two years in that program I will have my AAS-Nursing and RN, then it's off to get my Bachelors in Nursing. My unfinished education was a biiiig factor in us WTT for awhile but I decided that even though it is going to be hard I don't want to wait the minimum of 4 years to try or even more if I don't get in right away.

i'm in a similar situation...just one degree further along. i'm working on my master's in curriculum and instruction. i'm not een close to done yet. i finish in 1 year and 1 week :) i was going to wait until after we had our first lo, but after a year of ttc, i figured if i didn't start my degree soon, i'd never get it! i also wish babies were as easy to come by as A papers....speaking of which, i've got one to write right now...guess i should stop procrastinating. early congrats on your graduation and good luck with that bfp!

Good Luck getting into the program MrsStutler and getting your BFP! I'm sure it is difficult. I hope you can find the same passion for nursing that you had when going for your vet. tech. degree. It must be hard to decide whether to ttc or get your education.

Hope you got a good start on your paper Bexxc. I, too, am a procrastinator. Thanks for the congrats and the luck. We'll see in a month or so if I can pull this thesis out of nowhere (and my BFP). Eek.

I applaud you all for attempting both. It is not an easy path, but we can do it!

Hey Aquaria
I’m doing a certificate in Special Education – have my Bachelor of Arts (minors in History and Geography) and Bachelor of Education. I am currently working as an Educational Assistant as teaching jobs here are hard to come by. I’m temping and taking prenatal as well as Omega 3 vitamins. I’m also trying to get DH to take his vitamins… men! Speaking of which…. I’ll go grab his now! Sounds like you have tons on the go. A more stress free approach is my goal. Its one course a semester :)

Good luck getting into nursing school! Hopefully you get in right away and everything works out :)

Hey Bexxc
I also wish Babies were as easy to come by as A papers ;)

I've just finished my first year doing a ba accounting, and it was a throw up baby or degree. Couldn't decide so I'm ttc and studing and I own a salon very busy but at 32 not getting any younger and I've been ttc since sept last year had a break at the beginning of the year but I'm going all out for this cycle. Fingers crossed ladies xx

Hello fellow students and TTCers...

I am so glad to hear that there are others like me that are crazy enough--and motivated enough--to have several things on the go. It's hectic, though, and I can't help but think that the stress of everything is decreasing our chances of becoming pregnant!

I'm 32, work full time as a Social Worker in child welfare, and I'm working on my Masters Degree in Social Work (part time)....just finishing the first of 3 years. But we didn't feel like waiting till school was over--because I'd be 35 and we expected to have to ttc for a while since we're in our 30's already (but I'm still impatient).

Aquaria6--I totally know what it's like to try to study while your mind won't stop drifting to babies...it's all-consuming sometimes for me (not for my partner, he's much more relaxed about it).

I wish all of you the best of luck in baby-making AND studying!

I am halfway thry my schooling. I am a LPN and am going thru the prerequisites for the bridge to RN program. I dont feel bad about ttc during school. 5 of my classmates from LPN school had babies during the year and they all passed and did just fine. I go to school with countless women that have young children, and if they can do it, then i'll have no trouble :flower:

I am ttc #1 working two jobs and starting grad school in fall! Also getting married next year.

i've just finished my 2nd year of BA Fine Art. x

I am also in a similar position to yourself :)

I've just completed my 1st year at night school (BTEC Level 2 Health & Social Care Diploma) and now going into my 2nd year in September which will take 2 years, then onto university for another 3 years to qualify as a Midwife  I also work full time which can be very time consuming when it come's to assignments and such but it's all for the best.

I'll be 27 by the time I qualify and we decided to TTC straight away despite me doing my degree. My OH is in his last year at University completing his teachers degree (He's 36) but we have it all planned.

Nice to see so many ladies in a similar situation as myself. Anyone have any tricks to keeping down the stress?

Like you, WannaBAMom, I often wonder if all this stress is keeping us from conceiving :(

Thoughts?

Hey!
I'm just about to finish my last year at uni, and ttc!
All very scary but brilliant!
Hope it goes well for you! :D

Phew, I'm so pleased it's not just me!

I have one year left of my integrated masters but dh and I are starting ttc this month, I feel like I can't ignore my bodies screams any longer.

Good luck everyone (degrees and babies!)

:)

We're going through IVF round 1 this summer, and I'm in a 4 summer master's program. This is summer number 3, so it is a little nerve wracking trying to do course work and thinking about having children. It sort of puts a little pressure on you to maintain your course and go with the flow. haha

I'm finishing up a master's degree in English and TTC #1. I'm hoping to have a BFP by the time I graduate!

Aquaria, I also am finishing up my degree and TTCing. I went off bc about 2 months ago now and this is our first month really TTCing. I have about 5 1/2 weeks left and I will finally have my masters. SO relieved to be so close!! I wish that I would have found this community a long time ago! I was on bc for about 13 years, so I really can't even remember what the cycle was like before. I really wish that I had started temping when I stopped taking the bc....but I am just starting now. Hopefully when I can see a pattern it will say that I am ovulating. I am due right about now, but so far I haven't seen any EWCM or any others signs pointing to it so I am really wishing that I was temping already! I am learning so much from you girls and I am so relieved that there are others who are in the same boat that I am and share the same thoughts/feelings.

Best of luck to all of us!! Bring on the BFPs!
