Hi I have lost 5 babies and still am trying to have one to keep. I am 39 years old and panicking about time running out:cry:

I had surgery for my last baby on the 11th April and still no AF....

Hubby and me have been NTNP since and we have an appt to see my Consultant on the 23rd May to talk about the tests on the baby.

I do know I was carrying a boy and he died because he inheried my bad X chromosome (I have a translocation and partial deletion in one of my Xs).

Once we have seen the Consultant I will go back to CBFM... even though all of my pregnancies have occured when I wasn't using it lol:haha:

Anyone else in the same boat? :hugs:

Or am I alone in this?

I didn't to R&R. I've only lost one baby to my knowledge. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses, you will be a mother soon hun.. I wish you the best of luck & I will keep you in my prayers :hugs:

I am so sorry for your loss! I have 2 angel babies and it is so hard. Don't loose faith, I know you will be a Mother!

Is there anything else they can try?

They can try a proceedure called PGD where they use IVF and then at 5 days test and reimplant only those that are chromsomally normal...however, at my 'advanced maternal age' of 39 I am too old to help according to the NHS.

There are only 2 places in the UK that can do this and so it is massivley expensive... too expensive for us unfortunatley...

Have been told the only other option is egg donation... which really doesn't appeal for us.

So I guess I carry on alone... risking my health with each pregnancy and potentially losing many more babies.

I am so sorry for your losses. I have had 4, all early on, but all without any reason given.
Now we are ttc conceive again but it's been 5 months now and nothing so far.

I have not known anyone to do this personally but I follow a bunch of infertility blogs and many couples go overseas for IFV to keep expenses down. Not to the US of course, it's expensive here too but Turkey, Thailand and other places that have high success rates even though you might never imagine them as places you would visit! I am sure if you googled it you could get an idea of where and of the cost.

I looked into it because we would really struggle to afford it here in the US so if we decide to pursue IVF we might look more into that. Just a thought in case you hadn't heard of it.

So sorry again for all you have lost. I know how hard it can be.

Hold on tight to your hubby and remember to try and keep some romance alive. It can be easy to forget that while we are trying so hard for a little one we have a man who loves us and just wants us to be happy. We are blessed to have strong guys to stand with us through everything.

Wishing you every luck in the world.
