Anyone use Clomid even when they already ovulate?

I'm just curious about Clomid, I thought it was for people who struggle to ovulate on their own, but I seem to be seeing a lot of people recently who know they do ovulate on their own each month through charting/OPKs, but have still ended up being prescribed Clomid, particularly after experiencing pregnancy loss.

Does anyone on here use Clomid even though they do ovulate without it, and what were the reasons for a doctor prescribing it? Particularly interested in anyone who has been given this from a UK doctor as they seem particularly uninterested in anything to do with TTC when I speak to them, despite 3 previous miscarriages now.

I'm on Femara and ovulate on my own. My doctor said that when there is no problem it can increase your chances because it will produce more eggs and therefor increase the chances that one will fertilize =)

Hi bubbles. I was prescribed clomid last year after ttc for 18 months with no bfp. I got pregnant on my first clomid cycle which sadly ended in miscarriage.

I've been trying now for three cycles with no bfp so thinking about taking it again.

I do ovulate on my own but as everything said, my specialist thought it would increase eggs and increase chances of conception.

Hi beary, was it just through your GP? I'm thinking my GP wouldn't do anything like that, but I'm convinced my long cycles are a big factor in my losses and would really like to bring ovulation forward.

Hi bubbles. No - it was through the hospital infertility clinic. I got referred by the gp. I didn't like the side effects though so I'm not looking forward to taking it again. I got bad headaches and hot flushes

I don't think long cycles should be an issue if your leutal phase is more than ten days??? I'm not an expert though.

I was reading a study about it the other day and they'd found that long cycles are more likely to be linked to losses, I think it means the egg quality isn't as good by the time it's released, or can be 'over ripe' apparently
