Anyone use Second Life ?

My neighbour has just been raving about second life, she said its great as a distraction from day to day life and how much she enjoys her virtual life doing things she could never do in the real world ( she is in her 60's and had bad health )anyway, I suddenly became more interested when she mentioned that she made £900 from it last year. So I came home and registered, although I think I may have done something wrong as my 'person' went into a room, started dancing and removing her clothes

Anyone have any ideas what this is all about?

Its an online community. I had never heard of it before today either. You create a character or avatar and I think you just go and mingle? But I could be completely wrong.

Maybe thats how you will make your money. I've never heard of it either to be honest. xxx

I used to play it about 5 years ago till one day i went into a room and someones charecter pinned my charecter to a pole and started doing nasty vile things, turned out you can rape another players charecter in it (dont know if they have changed it now) and there was nothing you could do till they where finished.
Refused to play it again after that.
Unless its changed it can be a very nasty game.

Basicly imagine sims online if all your sims ever did was have sex and strip.
You can build yoyr own room and have it as anything from a home to a shop or casino or nightclub and others come into your room and plays.

Esentialy it is mostly used for virtual sex, my advice is to stay away from it

I played it from 2006 till 2011 and it is very addictive (it did take over my life) it got boring quick and too stressful..real people behind avatars that cause too much drama.
You can make money on the game but you have to be a genius to start with as its all programming and designing that get you somewhere.And theres nothing that hasnt been done before.
The game is a virtual world to meet and talk to other people from all around the world.
I personally have met one Lady from USA on there that i have been speaking to from day 1 and she actually came over here for my 21st birthday and sometimes sends american food boxes

I used to always recommend the game as it was fun..but not so much now

I just had another look at it and I just don't get what I am supposed to do, all I am doing is walking around but not knowing where to go. I suppose it can be good if you know what you are doing but I am getting bored very quickly.

For first timers its best to meet someone in there and they can show you what to do and where to go etc..the best thing i liked doing was making my avatar look nice..by buying clothes,shoes etc

Lol i was earlier searching youtube videos for the sims 3 and i ended up watching a video for second life. It was the strangest crap i'd ever seen. Lol.

I re installed my old charecter yesterday to see if it was still as bad as i remember, 24 hours later and im atill playing wirh my costume
