Anyone used a glycerin suppository.....

......to treat an impacted stool? Did it hurt?

I used a laxative last week (Dulcolax) and my god, it was worse than labour!!

Wondering if a suppository will be gentler but effective?

Hi,

Ive used them befotre, they do the job feels odd at first but when u get the urge u need to be near the loo

Ive never used the laxative u mentioned but have used lactulose, all i would say is the suppositry works alot faster

I've done it once, hated putting it in so I stick with laxatives,

I take Senokot, usually before bed but I'm up either in the night or first thing in the morning on the toilet.

Iv had to use them a few time's, does hurt sometime's depending on how impacted the stool is. Try not go for the first 15min's of doing it tho as the suppository could come out.
