Crimewatch on BBC1.
The story about the mum with the 18 months old baby made me feel sick.

For anyone who didn't watch..Her husband was out at the pub a week before xmas. A few men broke into her house about 20 minutes after she put her baby to bed and was checking on her daughter when she heard a noise. She went to look and a few men came running at her attacking her. She grabbed her little girl and they tied her up with her arms around her baby keeping her in the living room while they take whatever they wanted. She had bleach poured over her hands, was kicked many times and had her arm broken.

I think it's disgusting how any body could do something like that. They are thought to have been watching the family for a while so knew there was a baby in the house.

It just reminds me of a few years ago when my sister had a gang break into her house. She was 3 months pregnant at the time and had a knife held to her throat. Her OH was beaten up and they even attacked the puppy.

Some people should be locked up for life!

wow .. people are so fucked up. Im glad I live in a small town, nothing like that ever goes on here. unfortunately Im moving to sacramento this summer..

It happened in a small village with a population of about 350 people. In or near the lake district I think they said.

Though my sister was living on a crappy rough council estate at the time.

These things happen no matter where you live. There's some messed up poeple in this world. :(

I watched this, it was SICKENING
how could someone do such a sick thing!
I mean burgerling is one thing but why couldnt they just take the stuff and go (im not saying thats right by the way) i just dont get why they had to put the poor woman through such a horrific attack while she was with her child !
there really is some discustng people in this world

Yeah it was awful. She was too scared to go back to her own flat afterwards incase they went back. Her and her bf went to stay with his mum until the council rehoused her (they were dicks about it.) and when they went to check for any post they could tell they had been back. The gang went back and pissed every where, ripped the radiators of the wall and made the whole place a complete mess.
And why did they do it? Because they heard my sister's OH had some money. He'd been saving up to buy things for the baby..but all the money was in bank, so the guys didn't get away with very much anyway.

some very horrible people in the world!
sounds like she went through a horrible time, glad they got somewhere new to live though

When it all happened she had a very strong feeling she knew who it was (they all had balaclavas on) and where they were from and she told the council that's the only place she didn't want to go. And what did they do, offer her a BandB in that area.
She said to a woman in the council "what would you do if it was you" and the reply she got.."Well it's not me is it."
They were so rude and inconsiderate. I know they're only doing they're job and can only offer whatever accommodation is available, but at least they could do it with sympathy?
The council didn't even rehouse her properly, she found a guy who wanted to do an exchange and was prepared to move in knowing what had happened.

Absolutely disgusting. Some people just don't deserve to be alive. I know it sounds harsh, but really, what good are they doing? They're just nasty people ruining it for everyone else, making our own homes unsafe!

It's not my area anymore (thank god). I moved away from all the crap. I was living in Sutton, Surrey. The area isn't too bad, but like all places..it has its idiots.
