I can't believe my little boy is nearly 6 months old. It seems like just yesterday I was waiting (and waiting, and waiting!) to go into labour and now here we are halfway to toddlerhood already!

So as we approach the half year mark, how are we all doing?

Wesley is doing really well, he's still breastfeeding with the odd bottle of formula if I need to go out. He has been on solids for a couple of weeks now as his weight started to dip. I had wanted to wait and do the BLW with him but as he is only 9th percentile and had started to dip below his line on the graph I was told to start him off early, at 21 weeks. He's doing great with his solids though and I'm glad we did it. He's enjoying lots of different tastes and textures and I let him hold his own spoon so we do still have that baby led feel to it even though he's eating purée.

At his 8 week check we discovered that Wesley has a heart murmur and a further appointment with a specialist has revealed he has a hole in his heart. We're now waiting for a scan to see just how big the hole is. He is really well though despite his condition and not showing any symptoms other than the murmur so we are hopeful that the hole is small and will close up on it's own as he gets older.

Wesley is not a great sleeper and still has me up 5 times most nights :haha: I tend to bring him into bed with us most nights and he feeds while I sleep so i don't lose all that much sleep!

Milestones wise, Wesley is a bit of a plodder, bless him. He has rolled onto his tummy a handful of times but always by accident and never goes back again. He can't sit up at all yet but he does like me to stand him up on my knee and bounce him - he also loves to bounce in his new jumperoo :)

He has his moments but on the whole he's a happy little thing, always smiling and giggling, especially at his big sister who absolutely adores him. Yesterday we took him to the sea life centre and we sat him upright in his stroller for the first time. He was absolutely fascinated by the fish and the lights and sat there cooing at them the whole time :)

So how is everyone else doing?

Hi! It's been a while since I've been here, things are so crazy! Glad to see your LO thriving :)

Isabela is thriving wonderfully! She will be 6 months old on the 19th and we just started slowly introducing solids last week. We have only tested infant cereal and sweet potatoes, but so far she loves both! Next week: Apples!
She sleeps through the night (when teething doesn't wake her), rolls over, grabs at everything, and occasionally scoots-very slightly-when playing on the floor. She can sit up unassisted for just a few minutes, but only when she is bent over reaching for a toy on the floor. If I try to sit her up straight, she can't stay up yet, but she will get there!
Our next hurdle is getting her ears pierced. I am looking for the appropriate place to post about this as I do have questions, so I hope to see read some advice when I do!

Sounds like Isabella is doing great :)

Is your ticker right? You have baby #2 on the way? Congratulations!

Oh no lol I'm not pregnant again, I just never updated my signature. But thanks anyway! I'll stick with this little booger for now ;)

We are doing good here too! Dd was born April 5th so we are just over 6 months! Where did the time go!!!! It only feels like yesterday that I was waiting to go into labour!

Anyway Esmé is doing great! Rolling over both ways, not quite sitting unaided, she tends to end up falling forward onto her tummy, I don't think it will be long though. She is trying to crawl like mad but ends up going backwards and getting frustrated. In general she is very happy and smiley!

We are blw which is going well, I don't think she is "eating" much but she is having fun playing with food and throwing it off the edge of her tray anyway!

All in all I am loving being a mommy! Glad to hear everyone else is doing great too!

Lucas is awesome, although last night was our hardest yet, including the first night home! He was born on the first of April. He has a minor cold that he isn't taking well right now. But he got in four teeth already, beginning the first week of September, and has two more coming in atm. He rolls all over, can sit for longer periods unaided and every now and then can stand a little longer unaided. We moved 3,000 miles when he was 3 months old; he used to babble nonstop before that and stopped after we arrived. He only just started again. He charms everyone. He doesn't use a pacifier much, but in the morning sometimes he wakes up, searches for it and and it in his mouth. He's crazy for our daily river trail walks.

I can't believe how many teeth he has already! Isabela has been teething so much for almost 3 months now and you can see some white bumps below her gum but still NO TEETH! :dohh: I'm dying for them to come in! She doesn't complain often (thank goodness) but you can tell she's in pain when she's biting like crazy on EVERYTHING. But the biting seems to help her so oh well lol. She also never really used a pacifier but since teething started, sometimes its the only thing that calms her down, and now we use it every night when she goes to sleep. We always take it out after we put her to bed but sometimes she will wake up in the middle of the night and if she can't get herself back to sleep, I give it to her. Glad to see all of our LO's are doing so well!

Joshua will b 6 months on the 15th. He is doing great now we have figured out he has a milk intolerance. First 4 months were a struggle as he was hungry and wanted to eat but was obviously pained due to intolerance so would take a small amount and stop.

I stopped bf at 4 months as i thought i wasnt producing enough only to discover when we moved onto formula that he was struggling with a milk intolerance. We r 2 months down the road now with comfort milk and he is doing great. We have been doing purees for a couple of weeks and he loves squash, apple and pear. About to introduce some new flavours over next few weeks.

He has his bottom 2 teeth. Top are on their way too and he is sitting up completely unaided now. He can easily sit and play for 15-20 mins without toppling. He loves being on his feet and looks like he's going to by pass crawling like his sister. Went from a bum shuffle to walking. He rolls over but is happiest sittting up and taking everything in.

Generally he sleeps 7pm - 6am but he still wakes for 1 feed and will need resettled twice thru the night. Pop dummy in and he goes straight back to sleep. He adores his sister and just wants to go running after her so if he is anything like her he'll b trying to get on his feet in next couple of months. He's strong as an ox, long and on 90th centile. Going to b tall like his Daddy.

He coos and babbles most of the day. He's rarely quiet and he's a little boy who doesn't like to sleep much thru the day. Loves being in his push chair now so he can observe the world. Got the best laugh and has tickly feet and under arms!!

Glad to hear all your lo's r doing well. Half a year gone already... time goes all too quick!! Xx

All you're LOs sound like theyre doing great :)

Maisies doing really well, she was born on the 17th April (a week and a day later then EDD). She is rolling both ways, sitting up mostly unaided (still falling sometimes when reaching for a toy!). She has her two top front teeth and two bottom teeth through. We started the weaning last saturday, so far its going ok, shes having a few spoons each day at dinnertime, shes had baby rice and carrot so far, trying apple tomorrow! Hoping she'll become a bit more interested as time goes on as not to fussed at the moment with it.

She has become really playful lately and into pretty much anything and everything, mostly things shes not supposed to have!

She has sttn since 9 weeks but since the 4 month sleep regression hit its definitely changed, some nights she sleeps through from 8pm - 7.30am other times she wakes in the night, after a quick cuddle she will go back off but it can be tiring none the less! Xx
