I can't believe my little boy is nearly 6 months old. It seems like just yesterday I was waiting (and waiting, and waiting!) to go into labour and now here we are halfway to toddlerhood already!
So as we approach the half year mark, how are we all doing?
Wesley is doing really well, he's still breastfeeding with the odd bottle of formula if I need to go out. He has been on solids for a couple of weeks now as his weight started to dip. I had wanted to wait and do the BLW with him but as he is only 9th percentile and had started to dip below his line on the graph I was told to start him off early, at 21 weeks. He's doing great with his solids though and I'm glad we did it. He's enjoying lots of different tastes and textures and I let him hold his own spoon so we do still have that baby led feel to it even though he's eating purée.
At his 8 week check we discovered that Wesley has a heart murmur and a further appointment with a specialist has revealed he has a hole in his heart. We're now waiting for a scan to see just how big the hole is. He is really well though despite his condition and not showing any symptoms other than the murmur so we are hopeful that the hole is small and will close up on it's own as he gets older.
Wesley is not a great sleeper and still has me up 5 times most nights I tend to bring him into bed with us most nights and he feeds while I sleep so i don't lose all that much sleep!
Milestones wise, Wesley is a bit of a plodder, bless him. He has rolled onto his tummy a handful of times but always by accident and never goes back again. He can't sit up at all yet but he does like me to stand him up on my knee and bounce him - he also loves to bounce in his new jumperoo
He has his moments but on the whole he's a happy little thing, always smiling and giggling, especially at his big sister who absolutely adores him. Yesterday we took him to the sea life centre and we sat him upright in his stroller for the first time. He was absolutely fascinated by the fish and the lights and sat there cooing at them the whole time
So how is everyone else doing?
