Hi ladies

I'm using avent bottles & have just bought aptamel comfort for Katie.

What size teats do you use with it as its thicker?

Thanks

i use size 2 teats (though tommee tippee) avent wouldnt agree with the wee mans colic but size 2 should be ok:)

Thanks, I have size 2's and size 3's in so I'll try the 2's first!

we find 3 are better she gets frustrated with 2 and variflow x

Hi, I have just switched to Aptamil Comfort from SMA on the advice of my HV. The first feed took soooo long so we went and bought some new teats. She is 5 weeks old and we use Avent bottles too and were using a size 2 teat. The new teats we just bought and tried out last night were the size 3 'for thicker liquids' variable flow ones (using it on the slowest setting) and jeeeez did it fly down her throat!! It took about 5 mins to feed the poor thing almost 150ml and her abdomen was so swollen up with gas. She took ages to wind and just ended up throwing up and the same thing today. I even tried getting a pin and putting an extra hole into the size 2 teat. That still got vomitted up too. So, thats my experience so far...lol xx

how do u use the vari flow on lowest setting? is there a technique or something, sorry we just have them and i didnt know i had to do something to them x

Hiya, look at your number 2 teat and see around the side it has the number '2' on it. Look at your variable flow teat and it has markings on it I, II, III. The slowest setting is the number I and you align this with the babies nose when you are feeding them, if you want it faster then turn the bottle round so the number II or III are aligned with their nose. Have a peek at the hole size when its not assemled and have a squeeze just to see how it works, in position I its a horizontal slit that stays horizontal when sucked, the number II is diagonal and opens up a bit further when sucked and the number III is vertical (when aligned with the nose) and this produces a whopping hole when sucked. Hope this helps xx

thanks, hmm i just looked and mine hasnt got markings on just an x ?? its tomee tippee, have a got a dud set haha x

no, as I said above...i'm using the Avent bottles so tt must be completely different xx

I went out last night and bought the Avent size 3 teats (not the ones I've already tried-variable flow) and they are the best for the aptamil comfort x

HI anyone know which teat for dr Brown bottles is best for aptamil comfort~?

I'm using vari-flow teats for 0m+ she seems to get on with those quite well
