Anyone's LO on this?

Were you advised to switch by the HV? Or did you just do it? What were your baby's symptoms and did changing milk help?

Edward has been diagnosed with reflux, however, doesn't seem to be responding to meds. I saw this in Asda yesterday so I bought some. He doesn't technically have colic or constipation (quite the opposite actually!) but they suspect possible lactose intolerance, or just really bad reflux, so either way something easier on his tummy has to be a good thing right? Plus it's a thicker milk, so will help if it is reflux.

I feel like I might be doing something wrong as I haven't asked the HV, but he's my son, I know him best and so far he seems to be a much happier baby and hasn't been sick once. xx

ETA- he was previously on aptamil first milk. He was refusing feeds, screaming and trying to push the bottle out. Since switching he cries to be fed, takes the bottle happily and takes all he wants in one go with no fuss.

If he's happy with the new formula u dont need to feel guilty. If it doesnt suit him, he'll let u knw. xx

I used the C&G equivalent of this formula with my LO due to trapped wind and constipation. HV initially asked me to try giving him water, but he screamed at that almost as much as from the pain. So, that was when she suggested switching.

If he's happy on it then it sounds like a good move. However, because it's thicker you may notice him taking less than before as it's more filling. Make sure you tell HV about the switch the next time you see her, as his weight gain may slow a bit, and it'll save her grilling you about it at a later date.

Just so you're prepared for it, expect some really disgusting nappies for a while. They'll most likely be looser, greener and smell completely putrid - but it should settle down after a week or two.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this milk it's given me a happier baby back like i said on the other similar thread have had few probs that are slightly similar to yours, and after going from SMA gold, to cow & gate, to aptamil c&c.... this one is perfect, if it works for him then use it hun. my hv is kinda useless anyway i had to tell HER why jake's so constipated gaviscon (being a thickener and saying on label do not add to pre thickened formula) being added to aptamil c&c (a pre thickened formula to create bigger bubbles or something) creates one big gloopy mess that won't barely come through teats. anyway rambling on soz :P but yeah this milk is worth it ur his mum ur right u know what works and what doesn't x x x
