We use Aptamil comfort and Dr browns bottles...

Question!

How on earth do you mix it?? you can't shake the bottles as they leak and if you swoosh it round you are left with grainy blobs in the milk which clogs up the teats! how do you do it? i dont get them everytime but ive noticed the warmer the water when i make up the bottles, the worse it is!

Any ideas?

I used to get this sometimes when using comfort milk could never work out why sometimes and not others as I always thought I left the water to cool for the same amount of time however we use avent bottle and teats and I never found they blocked the teats

I used comfort for a year, i found the hotter the water the better it mixed. If the water wasnt hot enough it goes gritty and bitty. I use TT bottles with vari flow teats and never had a problem.

We use cow & gate comfort with dr brown bottles and pre-make up bottles and when we take 1 out the fridge it looks lumpy but once we've warmed and gave the bottle a good shake it's fine. We've also got dr brown travel/storage lids so we can mix/shake the bottles without them leaking everywhere. :)

Mix the milk in a different sort of bottle that doesn't leak and pour it in. It needs a really good stir/shake to mix properly and it's easier to mix with hotter than usual water.

I've got proper lids for my tt bottles, it stops them leaking and means you can stack bottles in the fridge to save space! Jx

You can get bottle caps for the Dr Brown's bottles too - I think they come in packs of two or three. That helps you give it a vigorous swirl without having it leak everywhere. I agree with Bathbabe that the hotter the water the better when it comes to making up Comfort formula (and I've used both C&G and Aptimil) :)

I always use long baby spoons for stiring using Dr. browns bottles.

Thanks ladies!
right so i shall try using very hot water and finding myself the storage lids to allow me to shake them better!
Babies cost so much money!! haha! good job we love them so much :) xx
