I use the number 1 infant milk, but am considering one bottle of the hungry milk on an evening/night to see if it helps him sleep through a little more. I have read on the Aptamil site that it's okay to mix these two. Anyone had success or is it just the same really. I have read about it and what the theory is, but would like to know if it ACTUALLY has helped. Thanks

We swapped to hungry baby for all feeds and our baby dropped a night feed 3 days later. She just has the same quantity but the hungry is more filling. She used to go down at 9.30 and need a feed at 2.30 and 5, now she sleeps to 5.30, might just be coincidence though. She was ten weeks when we swapped.

We switched to hungry baby milk early on, and three weeks later he was STTN, could just be a coincidence though, we switched due to him wanting such large quantities of milk and then throwing up because he'd had too much, where as the hungry milk satisfied him much better.

We used hungry baby for the last night feed and DD used to sleep right through, just used the regular in the day though. So yes worked for us! x

Thanks for the replies! He is getting better 'anyway' with night time, so I will probably give this a go to see if it helps things along further x

We're on hungry baby too and our lo drooped one of his night feeds x

I'd say just keep in mind that it's not really 'normal' for babies to STTN at 2 months. They really do need to eat little and often. It might be exhausting for you, but it's the best thing for them. And it really doesn't last forever. Even being BF, my daughter was only waking 2x a night around then. When we switched to bottles (no hungry baby milk, no feeding up during the day), she eventually dropped the night feed on her own anyway most nights at 3 months. Now she does wake again once to eat some nights, but that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. It's been hot here and babies drink milk for hydration as well as food, so they need that extra fluid at night to stay properly hydrated in this weather. So don't feel like you're not doing something right because your baby doesn't STTN. It's unusual at this age, even for formula fed babies.
