I am breastfeeding mainly but my nipples are so sore at the moment I think if LO has them any more then they will fall off. I know its cos he was latching on wrong at the beginning. but i just made a formula and it turns out he just wants the boob so wanted to know if i could store this in the fridge and re heat or you can do that?

On the box it says use immediately but what about the people who take bottles out and have them heated up in mcdonalds and stuff?

When I've made up Esmé's bottle I won't keep it any longer than an hour, though my HV said you can keep it for up to two hours.

When I'm out and about we either take a sterilised bottle and a ready made carton, or we take the bottle with just water in and take the powder in the tommee tippee powder holders(?) and add when we need it.

hey hunni

hope you're doing well?!

Have a read on the thread by babybumpdec 'making formula bottle up' theres loads of replies on there in a similair vein - it seems everyone is completely different lol!

Personally I make a 6 bottle batch so the last is kept refridgerated for anything upto 24hrs I'm defo in the minority with this tho most make up as they go along with varying methods...I'm not that patient tho lol (& Theres no problems with baby so good for me :-))

if its been heated up, you've got two hours tops to use it, after that, sadly its done.

I use Aptamil for Evie and we usually make up just water in her bottles, then keep them at room temperature till she's ready for a feed, heat up the bottle with the water in, then add the powder which we pre-measure and put in those powder dispenser thingies...much more convenient! And yes, on the Aptamil box it says you can keep it for up to 2 hours once made up. I usually stick to an hour tho, just to be on the safe side.

i do this too... i make 12 hour supplies at a time, which is usually 4 bottles, so 4 made 1st thing in the morning, then 4 in the evening. i make them up with boiling water, add powder, cool them rapidly in cold water with ice packs in and then keep them in the fridge til needed. Much easier at 1am and 4am than making from scratch!

this is how i did bottles for my son til he was 1 (and went on to cows milk) and he was fine - i can't see how in 3 years that can change, lol.
