Finley has been on SMA Gold since birth but he has reflux & I was recommended Aptimil Comfort milk after trying everything else (including the medicines) and nothing working x His reflux doesnt seem as bad but because this milk says on the front 'for colic & constipation' he now has really bad Diarrhea, its litterally like water, its been like this for 3 days at first I thought it was a bug but he is only going once a day & doesnt seem ill with it so makes me think its the milk x

Has anyone else had this problem??? If so is it something that will go away the longer we use it or will he always have Diarrhea????

Any advice would be great x

our LO's poos have always been fairly runny on this but not watery, it could be just his body adjusting to the new milk! Plus way too much info but the wind from that end are very smelly too on this milk!

Altho Evie isnt on the comfort Aptamil, she has the stage 1 stuff, her poos are usually pretty runny (like breastfed poo ) and boy do her farts stink!!!

When our daughter was on the comfort milk it gave her very smelly and runny nappies.
We changed a few weeks ago to Aptamil stage 1 and the smell has gone but her nappies are still a runny mustard colour!

unfortunatly your LO needs the comfort milk for her sickness but as its also for constipation if she doesnt usually suffer from toilet trouble its bound to make her poo's watery. My LO was VERY sicky on the SMA gold and i changed her to the hungrier baby milk (still SMA) and she had no problems and it hardens their poo too. x

Just come across this post, started my son on this milk on Friday for his reflux too and it works wonders but his poos are really watery now. Did the issue resolve for you?

Hi,
My daughter has been on this milk for just a little over 2months and her poos are very runny too and very smelly. I put her on the milk due to er colic and it seemed t clear up pretty much right away and I was more that happy with it.

But............. I just wanted to know because all seems fine with her now do you think it would be ok to change her to a normal milk or would this be a bad idea? xx

I just changed my daughter back to normal milk. So far so good but her poo's have changed. we have been on comfort for a while and before that breast feeding so i no idea if its normal. Change her over slowly. Do a bottle or 2 a day and that way if there is a problem you can change back

I think I will give it ago then, and what I good idea by changing back slowly I would have just gone full hog and changed all her feeds
Are you still using aptamil milk or something different?

We ended up changing milk again to Aptimal first milk and he's been loads better since with normal poos (the odd runny one) he's also on gaviscon which seems to be helping again x

i put my lil boy on the comfort an found tht every time i fed him or he let wind go ( farted ) he always had a dirty bump they were very very watery an runny he didnt seem bothered by it but i thought it wasnt normal i asked my mw who advised it has a ingreadite in it tht make the poo a lot softer so they can pass it easy i asked her cos i was goin threw about 15-20 nappys aday was this normal she said no so i decided to change his milk to number 1 an since hes been brillant he hasnt been consitapated or had colic so all seem to be workin out on this milk.

With my youngest (15 months old) I found that Aptamil and Aptamil comfort were extremely good for dealing with all kinds of baby issues.
The runny poo thing is usually a sign of things changing and bubs getting used to new milk.. It does clear up, and if it doesnt then just go over to the 'normal' Aptamil.. Although we kept ours on Comfort until he was quite old, actually..
He's still on Aptamil 3 now, aswell as normal food :)
I know I sound like I'm being paid to advertise Aptamil here but I'm not, it's just that with all the milks we had to try with my youngest, Aptamil was the only one that actually worked and made his tummy settle! Others caused thrush, colic and all sorts. Poor baby.. 'Twasn't nice!

I am the same as you I would go around advertising Aptamil if I could, I have been so happy with it. Soon as I put my lo on to the comfort milk I had a new happy baby on my hands
I have this week put her on to the Aptamil 2 for the reason of the constant runny poos :dohh: (she has been on the comfort milk for awhile now) and she loves it :happydance:
I tried SMA and G&G but Aptamil comes out top!!!!! Ellie is a big Aptamil fan
