ok basically i'm not to sure as to what animals are allowed in the same house as a baby.
Between me n OH we have.......
2 Kittens + 3 needing homes
2 Gerbils
3 Corn Snakes
3 Hamsters
Then theres the Mum n Dad of the kittens (as we're living with OH's mum atm)

we really don't wana have to rehome any of them as the Hamsters + Gerbils were both rescue pets n we've had them all for sometime now, all of them are kept clean n i no longer handle my 2 snakes as MW has told me i'm not allowed to.

There is absolutely no reason why you cant keep all of your pets :)

When DS #1 was born, we had a 5ft tank of fish, 2 cats and 2 house rabbits! xx

You should be able to keep all of your pets! I have two dogs and a cat and we're keeping all of them.

I think you should be fine with all of your pets! However, you should stay away from the cat litter because of toxoplasmosis.

I have 8 roborovski and 1 syrian hamster, a terrapin, a houserabbit and 6 fishies sharing our tiny little house! Don't worry about it as long as you are sure you can give all the attention your animals need after bubz is born. We're not buying anymore for a while now!!xx

Hey hun take it from another exotic pet keeper you are fine, as long as you have locks on your vivs and your other animal cages are out of hands reach (once they are toddling) then you have nothing to worry about.
We have here:
8 rosy boas
9 skunks
1 dog
1 cat
4 European Polecats
1 tort
7 sugar gliders
6 Gambian pouched rats
3 ground squirrels
2 prevost squirrels
4 mongooses

and more. When our HV came to visit after DD was born she took a look around as she was interested. I did ask her about my concerns and she put my mind at rest as she told me as long as the animals are kept well and clean then there is no problem, people do not get reported for the animals they keep but if they are living in squalor or the animals are pooing/escaping left and right then a concern may be noted but it has to be severe to even get that far.

Do not worry hun pets are not a problem :hugs:

Oh forgot to add, ignore the not allowed to hold snakes thing its not true. MWs worry because to the salmonella risk (which is actually really minimal) but theres the same risk with stroking a cat or dog and putting your hands in your mouth. If you have to handle the snakes get yourself some sanitising gel to use after as it will kill any nasties you may have on your hands. I still handle my snakes now I just make sure I am much more vigorous with my sanitising gel and hand washing :hugs:

OMG i'd love to have a rosy boa but OH won't let me he says i could possibly have 1 when we move or its ball python (oh ain't to sure on that yet),+ oh wants to get a gecko as hes geting a new viv for his snake cos he wants a glass 1 (last treat he letting himself have till after babys born)

i couldn't hold them at the moment even though i want to cos my smell to thems changed i couldn't hold them even before i even knew i was pregnant n 16+6wks later still can't if OH gets them out of viv then i'm ok but if i put my hand in there they rise up ready 2 strike

So long as you keep their areas clean and wash your hands after handling/feeding and what not, you will be fine.

Its amazing how animals just seem to know something has changed huh

Royals are lovely snakes I used to have a trio once upon a time, rosys have a special place for me though I think they are adorable they remind me of giant humbug sweets LOL

we have 2 cats a dog and a ball python, and we're keeping all of them of course!

cyclura, so are all those animals like pets to you? are they all friendly? I heard skunks make really great pets!
