I usually make my LO's bottles up by adding the formula to room temperature ready made water bottles. Can I continue doing this now we are switching to Aptimil comfort??

Also I'm using TT bottles and size 1 and 2 teets don't seem to let the milk through. Will I be ok using size 3 (fast flow) My LO seems ok with them.

Thanks x

Hi hun. U can prepare it as usual. It's thicker than normal formula & I found with thick formula stiring with a long baby spoon mixes the formula better than shaking. As for teats, if she's happy with size 3 it's ok to use it. We switched to anti reflux formula at 6 wks & we were using teat 3 xx

Thanks. I have started making the bottles up to 90ml keeping at room temp then adding 30mls of boiling water before the formula at feeding time and its now going through no 1 teats. Going to get some variflow then hopefully I can go back to room temp and it'll work better. The faster teats were drowning him a wee bit I noticed at the last feed there. Can't get them anywhere here so online ordering tonight!!

I put 3 ozs of cooled boiled water in the bottles and then add 2 ozs of hot boiled water. I find aptamil comfort is so thick and it doesn't mix too well unless the waters quite warm.
Jake's having size 2 teats and he's 6 weeks, he does seem to get on okay with them but they do get blocked sometimes.xx

The vari flow work well with the comfort milk. Watc out for the green stinky poo and terrible trumps ;-)

When I spoke to aptamil they insisted the comfort had to be made up with hot water, 10 mins after boiling or it doesn't mix correctly

I have to say the Aptamil online chat thing is SUPERB, go to their website and look for the chat live thing. They are really speedy at replying, its like MSN and the person is always a HV, MW and also a mum!!! I have used them a few times and they were a million times better than my own HV. They DONT push their products, if they think its not right they tell you.

Lol Jake's poos are mainly green although we have had some random orange ones!x
