Are alcohol-based skin products safe?

I assumed alcohol in any form should be avoided.

I live in a tropical city, so wearing a deodorant/perfume is a must. However, I find perfumes too strong for my own liking now, and gave up deodorants because aerosols are supposed to be avoided too. So, I picked up a pleasant-smelling baby cologne of a well-known brand yesterday but was surprised to find that it too has alcohol. Hence, my question, is it safe?

PS: I bet you can tell I am a first timer.

Hmmmmm. Don't know! I still wear perfume & they're all alcohol based aren't they? Personally I wouldn't worry about it too much, though I'm sure someone will disagree Can you not use a roll-on depderant instead of an aerosol? X
