Are babies able to sense a baby in utero?

I was at a portrait studio about to take maternity pictures. There was a 1 year old baby in there who loved me. She kept looking and smiling at me. finally she crawled over to me and stood up with the help of the chair I was sitting in. Then she looked and admired my baby bump. I think she knew that there was a little person in there. It was weird.
