Are fertility specialists covered in Canada?

I live in Ontario and was just wondering if anyone knows if seeing a fertility specialist would be covered by ohip. Also, are any treatments covered? I have endometriosis and think I need some help.

I didn't want to r&r.... I'm going to my doctor tomorrow to get the ball rolling and see what she thinks. I live in BC and would like to know what's covered as well.

I think they are. My aunt lives in Ontario and has been seeing a fertility specialist. I don't know the details though. She will be going for IVF next month. You can talk to her on her, SmurfetteYan.

My Gynecologist visits are covered in BC and she's a fertility specialist.

I went to my doctor today and she said to wait out the summer and if I don't get pregnant then she will send me to a fertility specialist. She thinks in BC we are covered but wasn't 100% sure.

Im in Mississauga and seeing a FS, all the testing is covered but I do have to pay a "cycle monitoring" fee of 250, and then whatever treament is not covered by Ohip but could possibly be covered if you have insurance, treatment can be little as 30 to as much as 1000 depending on what you need!

hmm maybe I should look into our insurance for if/when the time comes - if we're having to pay out of pocket we should start putting money away!

I'm so happy now that I feel like I'm getting somewhere with this whole ttc thing! My first visit was very overwhelming but now I'm doing great! I'm going to Isis fertility it's north west end of Mississauga, everyone there are very friendly and helpful! You can always msg me if you need to chat. Very cool how we both live in sauga!
