Most of you know that we tend to use Raspberry Leaf tea to help 'tone the uterus' for labour.

But I'm just wondering does anyone know if it has to be 'Raspberry Leaf' and not Raspberry and Cranberry (likeTwinings).

The reason I ask is because my friend is one week ahead of me and she told me last week that she has been drinking 'Raspberry and Cranberry tea' (Twinings) to help bring on labour.

I explained to her that it doesn't actually bring on labour but helps the uterus in the contractions and also told her it needs to be raspberry leaf not just raspberry.

I remember when I was pregnant with Caitlin and I bought a similar tea (Raspberry an Strawberry) and my MW told me that it had to be raspberry leaf coz it was teh leaf part that helped. I've tried googling it but it's not coming up with anything really.

Got to be the tea leaf, plus the twinings stuff doesn't contain any real raspberry... just flavourings!
It does have other real stuff in, just not any raspberry.
I was scouting the Asda shelves last week and read all the ingredients of anything that said 'raspberry' on the front :p

I was in Whittards on monday and was looking at the same thing - the plain Raspberry Leaf had a pregnancy warning on it of not to be drank before 35 weeks, the Raspberry and Cranberry (I think it was that flavour!) did not come with the warning.

Havent got any as yet - but will be getting some in the next week :)

Thank you :) I thought that they weren't the same. I'll let her know and show her the post when she comes over tonight xx

It's probably helped her avoid uti's on the plus side though!

Mmmm, I've been adding cranberry and blue berry juice to my raspberry leaf tea, like instead of milk to cool it down... YUMMY!
