Are you taking prenatal vitamins while TTC?

Thanks, so much everyone. I am going to look into mine. I am interested to see the differences in each of them.

It's funny because as I was grabbing my prenatal vitamin out of the cupboard yesterday I was thinking 'Damn, I'm going to be done this whole bottle before I get pg' and there's like 300 pills in there!! I also have DH take a Vitamin B/Zinc pill of some sort.

I know the feeling. I got 3 for 2 at Sainsbury's which last 3 months and I thought I would def be PG by then, but no.... I've just had to buy some more :nope: ah well, at least it was still 3 for 2!!!

Haha well at least you're looking on the bright side :) I figure at least I'm getting my vitamins. Never used to take them before! It's just like I switched out BC for a multi vitamin.

my gyn gave me a prescription as soon as we started to TTC.

im just going to start pregnacare conception heard lots and lots of success stories saying it worked ! so hope it works for me. also preeseed is meant to work wonders. x

I started taking Sanatogen Mum To Be vitamins about 3 months before TTC, then continued for the 8 months or so we were trying, and I've also carried on taking them throughout my pregnancy. At every scan we've had from when I was 9 weeks pregnant, the sonographer has always commented on how strong his heart is, as well as his arms and legs- he's been measuring perfectly all the way through too. I'm sure those vitamins have helped him to be healthy.

Good luck and babydust to all :)

im taking folic acid, vitamin c and iron xxxxx

Yes I am. I take the Up & Up brand from Target...they are a great price and has a great amount of folic acid. I also take fish oil pills.

Dr recommended that I take prenatals while TTC. I am taking Viafusion Prenatal Gummies. They are yummy and don't make me sick (all other multivitamins normally make me sick).

Baby Dust to you!

I got hubby started now taking 50mg of zinc along with his multivitamin. I have continued with my Rainbow Light Prenatal One and like it. It's gentle on my stomach and is food based :) good luck to you all in finding one that works for you!

Ditto, I have hubby taking a multi-vit and zinc supplement. I am just taking a generic pre-conception vitamin from the supermarket. We eat pretty well so really its just for the folic acid boost. It's all a bit confusing really. I am also looking into getting some Royal Jelly if the witch shows up this month.

I am taking the equate brand prenatal and postpartum vitamins - they have all the nutrients needed for a potential pregnancy. I've been taking them for months now. My doctor told me that there are alot more levels in these since it's for pregnant women so I should take those and that if I happened to fall PG again that I would have them in my system for baby.

I started my fiance on taking multivitamins also, they seem to upset his stomach some days but I think he is just adjusting to them. I make him take them everyday lol

hey i am taking vitabiotics pregnacare conception :) cant get oh to take any because he has difficulty swallowing tablets bless him

That's what I take! It has revolutionized me! I have so much more energy and it doesn't make me sick. I feel great and alert and I am usually dragging. Love it! I was sad when Target ran out and I switched to the women's vitamin. It wasn't nearly as good. I think that I will continue to take the prenatals from here on out. It works with my body. I was talking to a nutritionist friend and she said that prenatals are formulated much better than the regular ones and there's no harm in taking them when not pregnant. Since I don't want this to be my first and only child I figure I will keep it up.

I know. I love it too. I like having be a natural based vitamin too. I saw the women's ones and almost got them them for after, but like you said no need to since you can take yhe prenatal one continuously. Do you take it at night or during the day?

OH recommended I start taking them so we bought nature's made pre-natal & DHA. I also take omega 6's so fingers crossed! :)
