Argos 3 for 2 question

I was thinking about buying DS a LiteBrix car on the 3 for 2 deal. It's normally £30 but half price just now. I went to reserve and it's OOS everywhere.

So, I was thinking if I buy any other toy that was £30 and is now £15 would I be able to exchange it when the car comes back in stock? Would it be better to say I don't have a receipt so they don't know I bought it on the 3 for 2 or would it not make a difference?

I recently left back bathroom scales that broke and although I had no receipt they needed the exact date I bought it x

Did they check it or was it just to make sure it was within the 30 days?

in my local argos i noticed last friday that theyve got a notice up saying "due to our recent 3 for 2 event on all toys any returns would need to have the receipt present" not sure ifits the same everywhere though x

I took back a barbie i bought the other week. I didnt buy it in the 3 for 2 but i did buy it before the last 3 for 2 so it was out of the '30 day' period and i was worried they'd think id bought it in the 3 for 2. They gave me a gift card with the £15 on without a problem though. x
