Hi everyone just need to ask you guys what happens if you go into labour b4 your planned c section ?
IM 32 weeks on monday and had my consultant appointment this week id previous had a growth scan as im huge lol but noone told me whay it meany buy he was above the 95th percentile and I have a lot of waters. When I asked him if the babyvwas big for his dates he said that it didn't matter as I was having a c section anyway. Sobi thought fair enough lol

But then I asked when id be booked in he said next appointment in 4 weeks id be booked for the c section so my next question was what happens if I go into labour while waiting for the op and his reply was if im progressing well then I would have to vabac I told him point blank that if that was to happen I would not have a vabac I understand if its too late and babas head is out then itd be a no but I wouldn't exactly leave myself gey that far without goin the hospital he then said nothing and said hes see me in 4 week when I would have a c section date I am however very worried now this is my second child my first was a section due to medical and phycological problems any feedback much appreciated thankyou x

I was booked for my section on wedsnesday and i asked my consultant the same thing... what would happen if i was to go into labour before this date. Her reply was if i got into hospital and was in established labour and i was doing well she would be happy for a normal delivery to go ahead despite her telling me that a vba2c was a huge no no when i asked at my 29 week appointment! I would be monitered very closely but im not happy if im honest as i asked if i could go for a vbac and she told me no! Dont see the logic in it at all shes said no for me to try but if i went into laboir before my section date she said it would be fine if i was to be monitered.... confussed! Hopefully baby will stay put until the 6th june for me. Xx

ok so - This happened to me - and I asked what happens if I go into labor before my c section (But I had 2 prev C-sections 1st due to fetal distress 2nd twins not in position correctly)

I was told that if that happens and labor is established I would have my c section if its in the 37 -38 wk mark. My Dr advised me that he would not allow me to labor because it would cause more harm than good given the fact that that pregnancy and the prgancy for my twins was exactly a year aprat- I conceived whenmy twins turned 3 mos. I did go into labor and i did have a c section. I wont say thats what they will do for you - but from experience this is what happened to me. I wish you a healthy delivery either way!!!!

Thanks bnb addict I dont see the logic either ill just b worried sick till then I really will but hope everything goes well for you though best wishes and thankyou for your reply xxx

Thankyou for your reply im glad your delivery was what you wanted just seems daft to me wen I next see him im goin to ask him a lot more questions on this subject and am not leaving till I get answers I don't know about anyone else but my consultant seems to rush you so fast you've not got time to blink never mind ask a question lol anyway thanks and all the best xxxx

I was told that I should call the unit and tell them I was in labour but due booked in for a future c-section, and that they would do the c-section straight away instead. (Unless of course I progressed crazy fast and was fully dilated when I arrived at the unit!)

My Dr. told me to call the hospital and let them know I was booked for a repeat c-section and that they would set up the operating room while I was on my way in. I did decide on a vbac instead and just went in like normal (ended in emcs)
