Thankyou for everyone's kind posts.

Rather puzzled and a little upset.... doc urine test which was sent away had come back inconclusive (done on Wednesday) and yet have just done first response with both lines almost same colour and even the cheap boots one was quite dark yesterday... anyone else had this experience in the UK? Still no period and certainly still sore breasts and a little odd feeling, off food a little and a day of queasiness yesterday (though could be a bug that's going round or too much crunchy broccoli!)

I am I knots only cos I want to be checked and referred to endocrinology ASAP if I am as thyroid meds may need adjusting ASAP :(

Babyondabrain, we'd be due the same day! Not excited yet though, trying to remain realistic as I'm 35 and don't know if I'll have problems as is my first. Didn't even know if I could get pregnant!

im sure all is ok try not to stress as its not good 4 u or bubba keep me posted on urs and lil beans progress. :hugs:

Thanks beyondabrain, this whole process can be very lonely at times! The couple of friends I'd normally chat to are all having ttc issues themselves so haven't been able to find the words to tell yet.

Feel better about thyroid tho, ironically a thyroid foundation meeting here in Newcastle on sat morn (never been to one before!) - I emailed the contact about my worries, she actually called a consultant and then fed back to me on sat morn at the meeting! He was really pleased I knew about the issues and praised me for haranging the docs - I need to get into the system ASAP and referred to consultant care asap too.

There is little knowledge about thyroid in pregnancy amongst gps (research on this just published) and it was the start of their new campaign I heard on the radio in Feb. The next Newcastle meeting in July is on thyroid management in pregnancy!

We have an OCD gene for a reason!

Hope you are well beyondabrain Xxx

Ps poas getting darker!

im so glad things are progressing for you just keep on ur gps case and makesure you get the services you need. im glad your finding info about your particular condition. how will it effect you and bubs during the pregnancy if you dont mind me asking. im good thanks little waves of nausea here and there and feeling really tired but other than that im good.

Hi all, hope you are all doing well!

After a slight cock up last Monday where someone on the docs front desk did NOT label my test accurately and so it never got tested, (! Stress city for 3 more days!) I finally got confirmation on Thursday and saw the doc, who followed protocol and put me up 25 mg. Yeay!

Does anyone know how long in a normal pregnancy before the first midwife appt? Mine will be a bit different but the doctors were really unclear.

Only symptoms so far are massive Boobs, can't eat a lot, off dark chocolate ( :( ) and liking custard! No major queasiness as such, a bit of twinging in tummy at times and needing wees v early in morning - then not sleeping!

Hope everyone else ok?!

Yeay 2 week hol, really needing it, been a very tough term at school. Xxxxxxx

Ps beyonda, untreated subclinical hypothyroid results in higher risk of mc, birth complications and sometimes affects cognitive development. untreated Hypothyroidism also causes mental exhaustion and depression, heart problems, high cholesterol, hair loss, infertility. I am managed, but theres recent newer guidelines about management during the first trimester, which is when the damage can.be done. However there's a lack of awareness amongst gps or who takes the control, meaning people slip through to 12 wks when its too late. New campaign (feb 2012) on thyroid foundation website. I know all this now, I didn't 5 weeks ago!

i hope everything goes well for you, here in the uk we are normally seen between 8 and 12 weeks so im thinkin with u being high risk they would want to see you closer to 8 weeks if not before sorry i cant be much help.
