Hey I am wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation?
I have had two growth scans one at 35 weeks - baby was on 7% @ 4.5lbs and then one at 37 weeks baby was on 6% @ 5.2lbs, in-between I have had NST and doppler scans.

My next doppler scan is booked for Wednesday (38 weeks) & I would really like to ask for an induction, I dont want to wait for the following Wednesday for another growth scan before they even consider anything. By then the baby could have dropped even lower or even worse.

Has anyone in the UK been in a similar situation, I don't really know who I would ask, as I only see midwifes or the occasional doctor to analyse my test results.

I am so worried and havent been sleeping due to the stress.

Thank you xxx

I was induced at 38 weeks due to IUGR with my DD. That was the decision of my consultant.
Have you been appointed a consultant?

I have yes although haven't seen her yet, at our first meeting I only got to see her registrar as she was too busy and she is on annual leave when I go in on Wednesday. It's so disorganised and I haven't really got a clue what's going on.

Do you just have scans or do you see any body after to check your BP and to monitor baby?
I use to have to see MW at hospital after all my scans and would be connected to the machines for them to keep a check on the baby, I had scans weekly and monitoring every other day.
At the time they said that as long as baby was growing all be it not a great deal they was still in the best place for them. They did not want to induce me unless they felt it was really necessary.
If not i would contact your midwife and see what she has to say. My DD turned out to be severely IUGR and ended up only 3lb 15oz at full term, she was smaller than estimated (5lb 6oz)

I do see the midwife after all the tests and she usually gets a doctor to check over anything but they don't give me much information.
Did your daughter stop growing completely between scans before they induced you?

No she was increasing but only slightly. Once she was born she gained weight from the start and just gained in leaps and bounds. Never had an issue since, she's only tiny but not the smallest of her age. Try not to worry too much, my SIL was told her Dd was going to be small and she ended up 7lb so they are not always correct. Xx

I was induced with Riley at 37 weeks exactly due to IUGR. But again this was choice of my consultant. We were told he would probably be about 5.5lb but came out at 4lb2 and stayed in SCBU for 4 days before he could come home.

Saying that once out, the boy piled on weight and is now a proper big chunk lol

Thanks for the replies :)
I am currently in the hospital being induced at 38 weeks, I didn't have to ask the consultant decided it was the best option.
How long was your induction? I have been here since 3pm yesterday and after 3 doses of prostin I think I may be having contractions, although at this point they are quite bearable. xxx

Wooo hoo :) sorry I can't help any further as I didn't get to feel contractions before LO got distressed and u washed rushed in for Emcs. It can take a few days as far as i am aware but thats the best i can do. Wishing you all the luck and am sure all will be fine. You will probably find that LO will thrive so much better when out and you will be amazed at how quick they manage to gain weight :) xxxxx

Good luck honey. I had a small baby at 40 weeks. She was only 5lbs 8oz but was healthy and we took her home right away. The growth restriction wasn't picked up at all during pregnancy,it was a surprise when she popped out! I'm being monitored this time. Please do update us with the good news!!! Xxxx
