Hi ladies,

I hope that noone on here remembers me because I would like to think that they all got their BFPs so for those of you who don't know me, I joined this site in what seems like a life time ago as my husband (fiance at the time) and I had been TTC for a while and couldnt seem to get pregnant.

Unfortunately we have still not had any luck and seem to be no further along with the referral for fertility treatment.

The reason for my return is in hope of the support I received before and I would like to support others too.

I had my second Lap last week after the cysts and endo had returned and caused immense pain. We have an appointment with our GP in the new year to have our referral sent over but found out today that our local hospital only fund people aged 23+ and I have recently turned 22.

I do wonder if I am being impatient and at what point you can say you have been LTTC?

We have been TTC for 2 years now and being so young I never thought I would have such problems!

I would love to hear your stories and would appreciate any buddies who are in a similar scenario!

Hello Claire and Welcome Back (unfortunately). I have recently joined the group and wish I had a success story to tell you, but sadly, I have never received a BFP. I am a bit older than you, 30, but my husband and I have been TTC since we were 24. I am actually working with only half my parts (Left Unicornuate Uterus, which means only the left side developed, 1 left tube, 2 ovaries, and 1 left kidney). I can only get pregnant on the left side which is a challenge, plus I have had severe endo. I have had 2 HSG's, 2 surgeries (Lap & Hyst), and am currently taking Letrozole/Femara along with HCG shots for progesterone deficiency. I also have minimal CM which works against me and may have to have another surgery. :(

I think it is wonderful that you are moving forward with your infertility, even though you are young. I wish I would've done more when I was younger, but I just thought "it would happen eventually." I believe you can be referred to a fertility specialist after you have been trying for a year with no success. You definitely have your age on your side which is big plus. I hope you are able to move forward with a specialist and get that BFP soon!! Keep us posted :)

Thank you for such a quick reply! Im sorry to hear you have been trying so long and really hope you get your BFP soon. Im not sure what the meds are that you are taking but would Clomid work for you? Surely it would make ovulation occur more often therefore increasing your chance of ovulating from the left?

Its strange that you mention the progesterone as I keep having day 21 bloods taken to keep an eye on my progesterone as it is usually low. The surgeon said my pelviis was perfect but I feel far from it! I think my problem is implantation or should I say lack of it.

I am starting acupuncture again tomorrow. Keep me posted on how you get on :)

Hey, I understand fully how crap it is. My hubby and I started trying when I was 21 and although I knew straight away that there were issues I was told the same thing, wait until I am 23. I am 25 now and still no BFP.

I don't have any of the issues you are having so I can't offer any advice, all I can say is good luck and I hope you aren't waiting too long.

Oh, and in response to the question "At what point did it become LTTC??" I say anytime after 12 months and you feel it is LTTC.

Hi claire_lou, we also started ttc in 2009 but at the end of (dec) i was diagnosed with pcos in feb this year, i didn't really class myself as ltttc until 3-6months ago.

:dust: to you

Hi Claire,

We went for further testing when we officially hit the year mark but I do have a nice stash of medical problems so we didn't want to wait any longer, considering my age. I sought a high-risk OBGYN even prior to hitting the 6 month mark and in reviewing my history, he was also very much along our line of thinking. Show you how important finding a good healthcare provider is.

Good luck with your journey. :)

I felt something was wrong at 9months trying, my cycles were so long and irregular so I went to the doctor turned out I had PCOS.. started trying at 24 didn't think I would have an issue, now 26...

Hi Claire_Lou... and everyone... For me TTC gave me a bad feeling at about 4 months in, I began thinking what if this never happens... After our mc I bought my first 50 pack of HPT and I think then I was fully aware this was going to be a long road.. Now I´m buying 100 packs... :dohh:

Thanks for all the replies!

I must say that I was concerned after a few months of TTC as I was on the pill before and had been told if I missed one pill I could get pregnant so thought as soon as I came off I would get my BFP - more fool me!!

I've always been quite impatient but this is killing me, the thought of another year of infertility is really upsetting me and no matter how hard I try I just can't picture it ever happening now :(

Everyone has been telling me to stop thinking and worrying about it and it will happen but that is so much easier said than done.

To make things worse my boss found out that I have been TTC for 2 years yesterday and I haven't been working for the company for long so just waiting for him to say something now :(

Yep i thought the same re you're comment about missing a bcp! Df was convinced we'd get pg straight away so we waited for a year from talking about it to try! I often wonder if we hadn't waited that year would things have been different?

Not sure your boss can say much! Hopefully he won't!

I also know how you feel thinking it might never happen, i feel like that all the time!
