So apparently its SUPER high in mercury and is on the DO NOT EAT list. I've been limiting seafood and thought that was enough but there's a list of fish you should COMPLETELY avoid. This is the only fish I've had from the list the entire pregnancy (24 wks tomorrow!), so I should be ok, right?? One time won't hurt... right?? I'm scared :(

Also, the fish was cooked a little under medium. My OH said it was "raw" on the inside and made me send it back, but I'd already eaten half. So I'm worried about that, too :/

This was about a week ago and I hadn't gotten sick or anything. I just hope I didn't hurt the baby in any way. I sure could use some reassurance, I'm worrying myself sick over it!

Thank you guys! :flower:

i wish i could give you some advice besides calling your midwife and asking if u should really be concerned.

If it didn't make you sick, I seriously doubt one time will hurt! Even if it was higher in mercury, one dose shouldn't matter at all. :hugs:

I had my friend from India tell me on/gyns in India say to eat more liver while pregnant, but our guidelines say to avoid it. One mans meat is another mans poison it seems

I got told i can eat any fish apart from shark...guess we all get told diff things?

i ate sea bass on holiday a few times and my baby is fine =) try not to worry =) xxx

Hello

I found this .. i hope it help :) - i really wouldnt worry about 1 meal.

The FDA and EPA advise that young children, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and women of childbearing age do not eat more than two or three meals, or 12 ounces total, of fish or shellfish a week. They should limit high-mercury fish to one serving per week.

To be safest, however, The Green Guide and the Environmental Working Group recommend limiting moderate-mercury fish to one meal a month, and bypassing high-mercury fish completely. In addition, our list of high-mercury fish is longer than the FDA's, which includes only king mackerel, shark, swordfish, and tilefish

I dont think one piece of fish will be of any harm .. and looking at this it is only king mackeral, shark, swordfish and tilefish you really need to avoid completely.. but i wouldnt eat any more seabass if it makes you worry :D

Thank you guys! Ok, I feel better now. I'm kind of a worse scenario kind of person, its terrible!

Thats def reassuring to read "one serving of high mercury/wk"... I keep reading DON'T TOUCH IT! Its def true that the advice varies depending on the source.

Thank you all again, I appreciate your responses :)
