I ate some stuffed pasta (chicken and bacon) that was left out overnight. I didn't realize it was out all night until after I ate it (DH put it in fridge before I woke up this morning). Microwaved it but I don't know if that helps anything. Now I'm really nervous I am going to get sick and hurt the baby. I also don't know how I'll know if I'm in the clear or not. I can't stop freaking out now!

I think it's ok if you heated it up in the microwave. It isn't like mayo that was left out overnight, then I'd say no. Or hotdogs. I think you'll be fine. I did a boo boo today too. I was sooo hungry and barely have anything in the house right now so I ate a hotdog. Notice they had green spots on them when I looked at the other ones in the fridge, and this was after I ate it. My mom said nothing bad will happen, it's just mold. I do feel a tad bit nauseous though BUT I've been feeling nauseous for days!

Personally I've never ate left over food, I don't like the idea of it but hubby will do it and I have to FORCE him to refrigerate but he doesn't always do it and has never had food poisoning.

I think by it being at least refrigerated for a period of time the risks will be minimised although there are still going to be some - even cooking fresh food and eating straight away carries some degree of risk.

The main thing I would be concerned about though is the meat, not the pasta.

If you have any symptoms, go straight to the hospital and tell them you suspect you have food poisoning. Better to 'over-react' than brush concerns aside.

"Risks of Reheating Food

Reheating food that has been properly stored in the fridge will not pose the same health risks as food that has been left out all night long. Remember that a single bacterium will multiply rapidly under the right conditions, which poses the serious risk of food poisoning.

Even if you reheat food that has been left out overnight, some bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus (staph), can actually form a heat-resistant toxin that cooking alone will not destroy. That means the risk of food poisoning will not be eliminated by reheating the food."

My DH would be in deep trouble if he had done this - I'm fanatical about making sure that all leftovers are put in the fridge within 90 minutes as per UK guidelines.

In all probability you are going to be fine, but do seek medical attention if you have any symptoms.

I had lunch yesterday at a bar-type place and Idk if the mayo was refrigerated?! And I had Mcdonalds today with mayo on it (and maybe quite a few other days too)?! Ugh. :dohh:

Give it a few hours. If you're sick, or shitting rusty water you'll know it was bad! Was the food covered up in any way?

I ate a chile relleno that was out all night, same circumstance. Dh put it in the fridge right before I woke up. Ended up with poisoning I think. Dr told me that food poisoning will rarely cause any harm to the baby.

It was left in the pan covered all night.

It's been 5.5 hours and so far I feel fine. I've read food poisoning usually shows up 4-24 hours later. Hopefully I skirted by this time!

You'll probably be fine . I've done the same thing because my oh does this all the time .

Even if you get food poisoning its you who will be hurting but baby will be fine.

Also depends on the foodas well. Mayo actually will not grow bacteria even when left out a long time ( sake thing about the ph)

That's what I asked my mom because she's taken a food-born illness class through the health department. She said itd be fine

Ive done this a few times too an I was fine..im sure you will be:)

I had food poisoning at 18 weeks and there was no mistaking it. It was coming out of both ends and as soon as I had a sip of water, I would be back throwing up again. So if you feel fine, then you have gotten away with it.
Although its absolutely crap for Mums, baby will be fine.
