Hi,

Athletes foot is driving me crazy at the moment! Does anyone know what's safe to treat it when you're pregnant? I've just checked my dhs cream and it says 'consult your doctor' if pregnant.

Any help?!

You could call your local pharmacy Abe ask to speak toa pharmacist to see if they think it is safe for baby too. I too struggle with that due to the sort of work I do. I'm on my feet for long periods of time I do use over the counter meds that are topical.

I actually just got over this issue. It was so bad that I could barely sleep because id be up all night with itching burning feet. I went to my doctor and she gave me a prescription for an ointment and it cleared it up in about a week or so. Before i went to my doc I just went to the store and got a generic athletes foot cream and used that for a bit (just didnt seem to help).. I checked on google to make sure it was one that was safe to use. there was a list of ones you could and couldnt use.

Ive had this during all my pregnancy, my Dr actually recommended vinegar or vicks vapour rub on my feet to chill the itching

Hi,
I got this last week out of the blue - so painful. I didn't even think twice about applying daktarin cream and powder which I had from a few years ago. It cleared totally in 3 days. Since it's contagious I would definitely not ignore it!! I probably should have given my doctor a ring but it didn't even cross my mind!

Same boat here! We have a DR appt Friday so I will ask her since OTR creams and sprays do not seem to be helping!

I had a ringworm fungal infection while pregnant last time, on my legs, and was told by my dr that Canesten AF was safe to use. It's actually meant to treat athletes foot.

Unfortunately, I'm nearly a foot-expert. I suffered many years from smelly feet and athlete's foot. The most important tipp for all fellow sufferers: Keep your feet dry! This should be the main rule! So dry them thoroughly after every washing. In addition to this put insoles made from natural cedarwood (I can recommend Zederna insoles) in ALL your shoes. They absorb the moisture originating from your feet. With this two methods my problems are gone after years.
