Holy Crap- How did almost 3 months pass and I haven't gotten to posting this yet. I was due 5/22/14 with a little girl we were naming Averi Marie. I have a 10 year old DD and an 8 year old DS who could not wait for their new little sister to come. My due date came and went... not something I was used to!!! ( DD came day after due date, DS was induced a week early! ) Anyways- Averi was stubborn and at 40+6 my doctor told me I was being induced the next day since they don't let you go past 41 weeks. I willed lil miss stubborn to come on her own... She didn't! I arrived the next day at 8 am and wasn't hooked up to pitocin until 11. Contractions started immediately and since I was almost already 3 cm to start and 80% thinned- we were expecting a quick transition! Around 5 pm, I was checked and was 7 cm. I stayed there... and changed positions many times, breathing and brooding my way through contractions. Around 7 pm, the nurse asked me to get up and into the chair for a little while to let gravity do it's work... at 7:28 the doctor walked in and asked if I wanted to be checked..I said sure.. I got up..and realized.. I wasn't moving... Averi Marie was born at 7:31 p.m. in the rocking chair after barely a push and 8 1/2 hour, pain med free induction!! No tearing or anything!! She was 7 lbs 10 3/4 oz and 21 inches long!!! She is a healthy 12 lb almost 3 month old!!!! Nothing spectacular- just thought I'd share!!!
