B/feeders how long does your LO feed for?

Leo feeds for 5 mins and thats it. Ive tried getting him to feed for longer but he just gets upset. He is doing ok he is gaining weight and doesnt seem hungry ever. And every nappy I take off is soaking so I guess medically he is doing ok?

Sounds fine.

Caitlyn can feed anywhere from 5 minutes to half an hour. She comfort feeds though and often falls asleep suckling. I don't take her off if she is still eating even if she's asleep

Amelia is the same as Caitlyn. They get quite quick and efficient as they grow

Archie feeds for anything from 10 mins to an hour the other night (although it was sporadic sucking!) Some babies can take a whole feed in 5 mins apparently.

ooh forgot to say, if they normally feed for 5 mins and then suddenly go to much longer i.e up to an hour even then they are just getting your milk supply up for a growth spurt.

Poppy can sometimes feed for 5 minutes and sometimes 45. I think sometimes she might just need a little snack or just be thirsty hence the quick feeds. And the longer feeds are often the last ones of the day so that makes sense.

Oliver feeds anywhere between 5-15 mins and is on the 75th centile and always has been I count my lucky stars he does what he has to and then is fine!

Jay's feeds vary from 5 mins to an hour. The longer feeds are before bed which usually keep him going for 5 - 6 hours

Simeon only feeds for 5 minutes most of the time... but he feeds every 2/3 hours. He is gaining weight well and the hv said he is doing great so I am not worried. I think he just takes bigger gulps than some babies

As long as he is gaining weight and seems well in himself - I wouldn't worry.

Isabelle feeds for anything between 10 mins and an hour - but when she feeds for an hour, it is mainly for comfort. She often goes for 5 hours between feeds - which was a bit worrying at first. But, she has been gaining weight well, so HV is happy and so am I!

I would say that Brenn goes from 5-15 minutes normally.

He'll usually feed from 20-45 minutes, but he likes to comfort nurse a lot after he eats, so half of that is mostly non-nutritive. Don't worry, as long as he's wetting diapers as he should, he's fine! Be glad that he gets the job done quickly, lol.
