Hi, Im hoping i can get some kind of reassurance from anyone who knows or been in this situation. I was in the AAU yesterday for high blood pressure, dizzyness, protein and headaches and whilst the baby was being traced, it showed the heartrate for the baby was high, ranging from 173 to 193. After a hour the rate dropped, then going from 150 to 173, with higher readings when the baby moved lots. The doctor was happy with this, said to keep my midwife appointment for this morning and to come back to the hospital friday to be traced again. At my midwife appointment this morning, the heartrate was back up to 170 to 180,and she not happy with that so i have to go back to hospital again this afternoon.

I am really really worried my baby is in some kind of distress. I am resting so its not that i am over doing things, any advice on what causes the heartbeat to rise? :hugs:

i am sorry i dont know, but at least you and your baby are getting monitored, let us know how things go today x

Orange juice, cocoa butter, sudafed, cold water, low oxygen in you (like if you have a cold)etc can all cause an increase in heart rate. I wouldn't worry though, what your baby's heart rate was doesn't sound that high to me. I'm not a doctor though and it is definitely better to get things checked out then not. My docs got worried when the baby's heartrate was 208 and not before then so you're probably fine!
