So I had my bloody show on the Thursday morning followed by loads if discharge and mucus, I started having cramps but nothing too painful so I didn't think much of it. This continued Friday and Saturday when we went to get a few bits and bobs in town I was still feeling uncomfortable infant even more so. Got home took a bath and had a lie down but the cramps kept waking me up so I decided to phone l&d and ask for advice and they wanted to see me so off we went, my OH insisted on putting the car seat and my hospital bag in even though I was adamant I'd be sent home!

Got to l&d and was checked and told I was 5cms! I was shocked and quite scared. I was taken through to a room and set up with the gas and air while they run the pool, which was great and things seemed to be progressing, contractions getting closer and the urge to push which I was told to do but after 4 hours of nothing happening I was taken out and checked again to which I was still 5 cms he had turned back to back and had unengaged himself so was not dilating my cervix anymore, I was in so much pain in my back I had pain relief inserted (cant remember which but didn't affect baby) and was left to continue labouring for another 3 hours before another check where the MW said she thought she could still see some of my waters and went to burst them only to find it was all my waters that were still there!

Needless to say after that I progressed very quickly and he was born not long after weighing 8lb 4 1/2 ozs. I thought the second time was meant to be easier! My DD was 5 hours start to finish so I thought it would be a doddle this time! I lost a fair bit if blood so was kept in for monitoring.
