baby aspirin and periods

I've started taking baby aspirin, as my doctor at the IVF clinic told me to do so, I should be starting with IVF this cycle. Anyway, my period is about to start, I usually have 3 to 4 days of spotting, this is my first day, and I am spotting a lot heavier than usual and getting really painful AF cramps which is unusual for me, especially when I haven't even started yet. Could there be a connection? I am not sure if I read once that baby aspirin was not a good idea when on your period, does anyone know if this is true?
