So I'm some what new to the whole forum thing. So now, 4months later, I want to share the arrival of my beautiful daughter Aubrii. (Please excuse any mistakes I'm on my phone since I don't have a computer)
Monday July 16,2012- I woke up, my OH was on the lobster boat working, so I cleaned the entire house top to bottom. I wrote out a grocery list and grabbed some money, then headed off to my doctors appointment.
1pm-I was weighed (184 I gained 70lbs in my pregnancy..yet my doctor saw nothing wrong with this?) Did my urine sample and had my blood pressure checked. Instead of my midwife, I was greeted by the OBGYN (who I was not a fan of anyway) he said my midwife would be on vacation until July 22...my due date ugh. He then proceeded to tell me that I had high protien in my urine and the 4 times my blood pressure was taken it was extremely high as well. Giving I had Gestational diabetes, he sent me to the hospital to be monitered.
2pm- I went to the hospital, where I was told I had to have an ultrasound to make sure that baby wasn't to large for my frame. (I was hugeeee and I'm 5'2'' and prebaby I was 115lbs) they did the ultrasound and everything was fine, they estimated baby weighed about 6lbs 13oz so I could deliver naturally.
3pm- I was hooked up to a NST monitor and they took 2 viles of blood.
4pm- I was told I had to stay over night and pee in a jug, I had to have my blood pressure taken every 2hours and I was on strict bedrest the rest of my pregnancy. Only allowed to get up to use the bathroom. By now I had told my OH (who still was out working) I was stuck in the hospital at least until the next day.
5pm-9pm-my mom, mom in law, sister and aunt all stopped in to visit. (OH had to work the next day also so I told him to just stay home and sleep and come see me when he was done work on Tuesday) I ate supper watched tv and tried to sleep as much as possible with nurses checking my swelling every hour and blood pressure every 2hours ugh.
TUESDAY
6am- the doctor came in and told me he would send the urine out for testing and I could most likely go home around 2pm. I was happy everything was okay but at the same time disappointed that I wouldn't go home with my babygirl in my arms.
3pm- finally the doctor came in. He told me they tested my blood and urine and my blood pressure wasn't esculating not declining. He also told me I was 1 point away from toxemia and 1 point away from pre eclampsia so I would be induced. I was sooo excited and nervous at the same time, I wanted everything to go all natural. I called and txt everyone I needed to!
6pm- I was given my first pill to start the induction.
8pm- my OH and his mother came to stay with me. (She had a surgery the next morning at 9am!)
10pm-got my next pill by now I started cramping up a bit but it wasn't bad I honestly didn't feel it except when I tried to sleep. (Which never happened haha)
5am-the nurse comes back in checks my vitals, the monitor, and goes to give me my pill. BUT before she could give it to me I said "umm either I just really peed myself or my waters broke.." she laughed and said " okay let's get you in the bathroom and put on a johnny" (I was still in my sweats and tank top as I didn't think it would happen so quick since the doctor said I wouldn't start labor until at least 9am) I stood up and gushhh there went the rest of it!
I don't remember any times but when my daughter was born after this.
VERY quickly I started have the worst contractions. They never got worse or less intense they stayed intense the whole time!
I tried the birthing ball which didn't help, I tried walking which didn't help, I tried all fours which didn't help. Finally I laid on my side crying while OH rubbed my back with a tennis ball. And my extremely amazing nurse held my hand while I had back to back contractions...there was no break. The just kept peaking on the monitor then going down really quick and spiking back up! I had such bad back labor too. After a few hours of crying back rubbing walking ect I finally just laid on my back and told everyone I wasn't moving(since this was the only position I got even the tiniest bit of relief. On my back I had about 45secs between each contraction to which I fell asleep then woke up crying again. I was so exhausted by then I had no idea how I would be able to push.
I remember my nurse telling me I either had to get up and go pee or have a bedpan or a catheter...I got up pretty quick.when I got back (it took me 20mins to pee through all the contractions) I was told I had to drink some juice so I would stop shaking so I sipped it but puked it all up within 5minutes....
My nurse then made me get up on my knees and lean up on the bed. Still with no break in between contractions. I cried because I didn't want to move but I did it anyway. While I was up like that they checked how dialated I was 4cm...in about 5hours ughh. The doctor decided to start pitocin to get things moving. I got the lowest dose they could do yet it still gave me no break in between contractions, and the got a little more intense finally I was crying so hard my nurse told the doctor she was taking me off pitocin because my contractions were so bad and I had no pain meds yet. He agreed. Around 1pm my nurse felt so bad for me and knew I needed a break so she made me get some morphine to help...it didn't even touch me and I got the highest dose possible. I got back on my knees leaning over the bed and said I felt the need to push and my body was making me. My nurse checked me and said your 9cm but you have to wait til 10cm cause the doctors doing a csection right now. Well I didn't wait. I couldn't. My body was making me. So I pushed in that position for about 20mins. The nurse came and checked me again still 9cm but something was wrong babys heart rate was dropping with every contraction so I had to have oxygen.(btw when she checked me the last time she actually had to move babys head over with her fingers because baby got stuck...) I heard nurses and the doctor talking all I got out of it was "she can't keep having these contractions this bad..." "maybe a csection?...." "babys engaged....too late...might have to break her pelvis..." I was terrified. (Later everything I heard was confirmed by my OH he said he almost started to cry he was so worried) after an hour of pushing I got back on my back and pushed that way. I was pushing for 2 hours and 30mins when finally my OH yelled "I see the baby!" The nurses came rushing in and told me to hold on the doctor would be right there. I kept pushing anyway (hehe) as I'm pushing my OH answers his cellphone I was livid I screamed " hang up that effing phone or ill make sure you never have another kid again!" He hung up pretty quick (to which I laugh at now) haha
FINALLY after 13hours of nonstop hard labor and 3 full hours of pushing my beautiful baby girl Aubrii was born Wednesday july 18 at 6:10pm. I didn't rip or tear or anything. And she was a healthy 6lbs even born at 39+4.
She is the biggest joy in my life and I would do it all again to have her she's my world and my reason to live.
Thanks for reading!
