Well baby Ben arrived safe and well on 1st March weighing in at 6lb 15oz at 36 weeks by c section. Very healthy little man. Was diagnosed with cholestasis at 29 weeks.... Horrible complication and very worrying. If anyone has this an would like to talk inbox me :) I can give u tips an ease your fears. I had twice weekly bloods an scans till he was born, the staff were amazing, even at my lowest point from not sleeping cos of all itching I was admitted to ante natal for 3 days an given low dose sleeping tablets an was closely monitored, it gave me much needed sleep. I was prescribed 400mg Ursodeoxycholic acid which doesn;t cure things but does relieve the itching cos nothing else does!! I found putting a nice layer of Johnsons original Talc all over gave a little relief from itching. I'm not sure how to upload a pic of my gorgeous boy. Anyway that's it really.. Would like to thank this place for the threads relating to this condition as it isn't listed in any pregnancy books. I had this towards the end of my pregnancy with my 1st son in 2005 and because i was 35 weeks when started with it i went into labour at 36 weeks an 5 days so it wasn't confirmed... This time it took 2 weeks of blood tests to confirm it.. Please anyone who has bad itch see ur midwife, it isn;t just the hands and feet, it started on my scalp then legs then everywhere!!!! :'( I got myself very depressed from lack of sleep.. I was so exhausted not just from bein pregnant but the condition wears u out completely. As soon as he arrived within hours the itching had stopped!! Such a relief and i have more energy than i have ever had!!! Thanks for reading :) xxxxx

Congratulations & I'm glad your recovering too :) x
