I had an emergency c-section and baby was a little unwell and spent the first 3 days in intensive and special care and then we both had to stay on the ward untill day 6! I coped well but by day 5 I was absolutely dying to get out of there!
Came home and every day since (day 10 now) I keep having random outbursts of being so down and crying and I don't even know why! I can't help but almost wish I was back in there as I felt less vulnerable in there and had less to deal with e.g my other daughter and her tantrums as she adjusts to new baby which upset me so much!! I just want everything to be normal and the pain and lack of being able to do much after c-section to be gone!
How long do the baby blues usually last? I'm sure it's not anything more than that as I have no negative feelings towards baby nor am I finding looking after her at all difficult!

From what I've read it lasts around two weeks. For me it lasted for three weeks.

Big hugs, Mama. This was hard for me, too. I had two c-sections, and both times I felt "normal" again right around 3-4 weeks. If you get to feeling like it IS too much, and is more than just typical baby blues, don't hesitate to call your doctor. I hope you feel better soon--I really feel for you!!!

dont worry, I think it's quite normal. I spent 6 days in hospital after my c section and I loved being in my 'bubble' in there. I also went home to a toddler who was trying to adjust to the new baby - it's hard! Totally bursts the lovely, safe baby bubble. My advice is to keep the pain meds up if you still need them and to take as much time for you and your new baby in a quiet space as you can. xx

Big big big hugs :hugs:
I was feeling very depressed and crying a lot for the first three weeks, but didn't feel "normal" until week 7. My husband was worried and I was so upset that people would think that I didn't love my baby if they saw me cry. But I think a lot of my woes after week 3 were just due to supply problems.
After the first 2 weeks or so, if you start to feel worse, please see a dr and talk to them. They might refer you to someone else to speak to (or suggest other means of treatment). The first few weeks are so difficult, with emotions all over the place. Sending you lots of love <3

:hugs: It is normal although not nice to go through. I just couldn't stop crying and I didn't even know why I was crying. Hormones are just all over the place after giving birth. Hope you're feeling brighter soon :hugs:

I'm feeling sad and I don't know why, sad my pregnancy is over sad I couldn't keep him in there till 40 weeks , sad I won't be able to protect baby form the big bad world, I feel like I'm on my own, I have plenty of people around me but at the end of he day it's just me, just don't know what's the matter with me and why I worry something bad will happen to baby or someone, I just feel like I been blessed 5 times what if I'm pushing my luck that they are all healthy and maybe it won't last and something will go wrong with one of my baby's :-(
Was so hoping the blues wouldn't get me I think I been caught already
