Not specifically Christmas related, but I want to buy my little girl a really good baby doll, so that she's got a baby to look after when her little brother or sister arrives next Spring. Baby Born and Baby Annabel seem to be the best selling, but which is best? I'd like to buy it in the January sales after Christmas; they're both EXPENSIVE! Little girl will be almost two and a half when the new baby is born.

Which would experienced mums recommend? Thanks!

Personally for that age Id say Annabelle. Baby Born doesn't really DO a lot. You put water in her bottle and she wees everywhere! When you feed her and sit her on the potty you have to really push her down to make her "poo" and she doesn't make any noises or anything.

Annabelle moves and makes noises so I think that would be more interesting to a 2 year old if that makes sense. And she's soft bodied.

At that age I'd go for the my first baby Annabelle as the regular ones are quite heavy and that really frustrated my DD when she played with them. I've got DDthis one for Xmas(it's £15 at tesco)

I personally wouldn't get one of the proper baby born or baby annabell dolls at the age! My DD loves dolls but I think they might be a bit big for her! She had the my first baby annabell since last Christmas and this year they've brought out on that goes to sleep and takes a bottle but is a bit small than the original ones!

This looks perfect! Thanks!

A bit of a strange question but does the baby Annabelle you bought have a hole it it's mouth you could put a dummy in I want a doll for dd but she is obsessed with dolls that have a dummy so was looking one I could buy a dummy for

We have both but mine prefer baby born, you can do loads with it depending on the doll. X

Isabelle will be 3 at christmas (just turned 3) and we've got her the baby annabell doll. Makes noises, cries etc xx
