Got called in the office at work this morning.. that always means bad news!

I'm an insurance broker and set up a breakdown policy for my auntie. Stupid me forgot to put the balance onto her direct debit.. so its been outstanding for 3 weeks. Because its family i'm in big trouble and I had to sign a form to say it was gross misconduct! I was fine in the office as i don't think its a massive deal, but as soon as i came out i burst into tears lol.:cry:

I blame the baby

Anyone else had baby brain lately!?

Oh heck! Poor you! Ive had it a lot but its not got me in trouble yet! I tried to lock my car door with the housekey yesterday......!

Oh poor you!! Try not to get stressed out, I'm sure it's a one off and work will know that.

My brain feels like mush!! I went for a coffee in work on monday, got to the kitchen and found I had brought a spoon instead, but no mug!!:dohh:

Lol good i'm not the only one :)

I don't care about it now, i'm not planning on coming back here anyway after ML because it succccccks!

poor you! do they know your pregnant? Cant you explain that with the baby and everything your mind is all over the place, which is not an excuse but pregnancy does crazy things to a womans body some times and that you will try your best to make sure it doesnt happen again and that you apologise for your mistake.

surely they cant just make you admit to gross misconduct without a warning first?
sorry if im being a bit harsh but they are being a bit harsh and unfair given your current bodily position.

i work with pay and when i was pregnant with the twins (they dont know im pregnant this time yet) but i made a couple of errors that lead to some personnel not getting paid on time. They werent allowed to put me straight onto disciplinary action or restoring efficency action (which is what normally happens with such a large error) due to the fact that i was pregnant.

i would check with your HR department or a welfar officer (if you have one) if they are allowed to force you into such a harsh agreement straight away whilst pregnant hun.

But i know what you mean with baby brain  luckily its not affected my work this time round though. xx

That seems really harsh especially given you are pregnant x

When I was pregnant last time I was in a charity shop looking for books... as I was leaving I spotted a really nice pram for sale in the corner... so I went over and pulled it towards me to get a better look... and there was a baby in it!! Its mother was in the changing room and rushed out and grabbed it back - I was soooooo mortified! I said 'oh Im sorry I thought it was for sale' and she replied 'no, its my baby'!! (like I meant I thought they were selling babies!) Oh god - I rushed out and burst into tears!! Horrible - and definitley baby brain at its best!!

Thanks for the advice! I suppose it is a bit harsh, it happened only a few days after i found out so i imagine my head was in the air thinking about baby names etc etc lol.

I work for a private firm, they are so strict and they seem to make up their own rules as they go. Bit of a nightmare to work for when you have a problem. Its the kind of place where if they don't want you, they wont just sack you they'll bully you out so its your idea instead of theirs. They manage to keep their staff with good pay, nothing else.. I'm not too worried, they have just pushed my appraisal back a month as i was due a pay rise and doubt i will get one now. Doesnt matter too much as i wont be here much longer! Bring on maternity leave!! xxxx
