I am picking out some clothes to add to my shopping list, but I don't know what all I should get, and in what sizes. This is my list of baby clothes to get:

Onesies (short sleeve and long sleeve)
Footed onesies
Night gowns
Hats, socks, mittens, booties
Sweater, Tshirt and pants (one whole outfit)
Dresses (just a couple for special occassions)

I'll be having an October baby so the wheather will be inbetween warm and cold at first, and then very cold in December/ January. Obviously I can't buy cold wheather outfits yet since they're not on the shelves until later. I also don't plan on taking her out of the house too much at first, so she'll just be home and inside with me most of the time.

Can anyone tell me how many of what I should have to begin with, and what sizes? Thanks!

All I can say is, you make me feel bad with how prepared you are! ;) I haven't even started considering buying anything yet!

You'll need the most of the 6-9 month clothes and 3-6 months as those they are in the longest .

When they are little they mostly live in sleepers with feet , and onsies as they are the most comfortable and most convenient. You'll probably be changing them at least 2 times a day possibly more in the beginning because of leaking diapers and spit up. But here's a rough idea of what I had for my first

0-3

10-15 sleepers
25 onsies ( used as undershirts in winter too)
5 outfits for going out
3-4 hats for night and going out
As many socks as you can find , they go missing, and can be used as scratch mittens

3-6
Same as above

6-9
15-20 outfits with separate pants ( learning to crawl easier for changing )
10-15 onsies undershirts
10 sleepers ( used for Jammie's at night now )
2 pairs slippers or soft shoes

You'll also want a snow suit in the correct size for how big baby will be In fall/ winter
Summer hats( best are ones with ties or straps) and bath suit in correct sizes

Also don't buy shoes until you need them at around 9 months babies feet vary so much on size they may not fit if bought before hand

And always have lots and lots of socks as I said before they will go Missing and get lost alot

I'm the opposite. The weather will be cool / warm in October. Then HOT in December and January.

Ive ordered up till 1 year old... id recommend a few more clothes imo:) Itlease 10 of each..

Only advice is buy alot of button down sleepers. You try getting a wobblf newborn head throtgh a little onesie with a tiny neck hole without breaking out in a cold sweat!

I really think you should buy as you go.

I learned my lesson with my daughter about buying too much. Lol

I agree.
You don't know what you will need or what you like until after you try it. Like me. Baby neck holes are scary. Onesies were useless for first month for me. Your preference may be different.
Also going to baby stores is a good stepping stone to going out with newborn IMO. Places to breastfeed, sit, changing table, etc

Totally OT but I'm so moving where you're at! :haha:

Also October, I love stalking your posts because you come up with things I don't even think about... its like you're my own personal planner also :haha:
