baby clothes on a budget? asda/tesco/sainsburys.....good quality?

Sainsbury's clothes are lovely and Asda are ok (apart from all the Disney character stuff they seem to do urrgghh) but Tescos are awful I find.

I hate tesco stuff, everything I bought lo in newborn size was from tesco and it all went odd shapes after I washed it? Everything from asda was great tho

Love sainsburys sleep suits, best there is IMO!

Primark and H&Mfor cute outfits that are not so hard wearing but lovely!

I love the tesco vests. Actually have a few bits from tesco, all good. I hav sainsburys dungarees, really good quality x

I love a bargain and charity shops and eBay have been great. LO has mamas and papas outfits new or hardly worn and ted baker coat for next to nothing :flower:

Sainsburys and Asda here!! And just to be cheeky Asda Little Angels nappies and wipes are worth a shot too!!!!!x

I would say asda & sainsburys are great, especially as they grow so quickly! I bought clothes for lo at the start of January by end of feb I was buying same things over as he had a growth spurt! I wouldn't waste money at this very young age, at 2/3 I will start buying next/ gap ect x

I'm an eBay fan for baby clothes. I only ever bid on new items though. I've picked ip some lovely things at a bagin price from there.
If I do shop buy then I usually go to tescos.

X

On a budget I absolutely love Matalan clothes - i have bought some really adorable things in there and they wash well. tesco is great too, their baby boutique range is great. Asda and sainsburys are fab for all round stuff but the items aren't quite as nice IMO.

Tescos- shrink in the tumble dryer
Asda - not enough poppers, find her feet sticking out of the sleep suit legs.
Sainsburys - best for fit and quality.

I love the Asda clothes, they are good quality imo. I live 2 seconds from one, so I kinda get too much stuff from there!

I also think Little Angels nappies are the best :) I buy the Action Fit for my LO, and have never had a leak... and the wipes of course, 4 for £3... cant say no to that!

We've had clothes from Sainsbury's, Asda, Tesco and Primark all of which have been great and very little between them in our experience. The Primark sleepsuits and vests do feel thinner but that is no bad thing if you have a warm bedroom like we do. Their basic t-shirts are great especially as you can go through 2 or 3 a day is you have a sicky baby.

I think you can definitely tell the difference between the above makes and Marks and Spencer and John Lewis (Waitrose). Soon as my hand touches them when hanging out the washing I know the difference but in all honesty babies are in them for such a short time nothing wears out or even begins to look used. Its a shame in a way but good if you are going to sell them or use them for another baby.

Remember if you have a sicky baby then all you and people will see is a bib anyway as its much easier (safer) to leave one on all the time!

I've bought supermarket clothes and clothes from other places in the sales. The supermarket stuff has been fine so far, but I think Sainsbury's currently has far too much pale pink for girls. I have a little dark-haired baby, I don't want to dress her in an insipid shade of pale pink! (Sorry pale pink lovers, but it just doesn't suit her :-) )

I like Sainsbury's best, then Asda, not such a fan of Tesco clothes. Another good source is Gumtree for bundles, or we have nearly new baby sales every few months (Jack and Jill Market). I like Next clothes for my son but don't like the prices, they wear well so I'm happy to buy preloved (or buy in the sale)

The asda thing always makes me laff when I open her sleeping bag and two feet pop out :haha:

Haven't read all the replies so forgive me if this has been said over and over :dohh: but I use ebay... I've bought more or less all of Poppy's clothes off there, I buy bundles as it's cheaper and where possible buy close to us as we can collect and save on postage. Nearly all the clothes I've had have been in imaculate condition and mostly NEXT too

I love Next and buy a lot second hand. Most of it from mums on here! I find ASDA is good price wise for new clothes and they are bigger than most other shops so my LO gets more wear out of them.

Don't be afraid to go second hand x

Out of the supermarkets we have only tried tescos. Very pleased with them and they are the only sleepsuits we have that have been small enough in newborn size to fit our 7lber from birth (others eg mothercare newborn still too big at over 8lbs).

Can't comment on tumble drier shrinkage as sadly we don't have one.

i buy from next but i have bought out off asda and tescos,

asda a dont like there cothes

tescos a love and i think they last well

matalan there clothes are nice

i actuall find next not that dear i got brooke jeans for 7 pounds and they was great and last forever.

I also LOVE the Boots mini club sleep suits - no feet poppage (is that a word??!) and lovely quality - just a bit on the expensive side, so I get the when they're on offer x
