Monday March 19 I gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl at 37 weeks, and I just have to say that motherly intuition is a powerful thing..... I pretty much was taken by surprise. Throughout my pregnancy I had never had BH, but of course I researched what they may feel like just in case. While i was visiting a friend (on march 18) I started to feel tightening at the top of my bump, but I didn't feel any other symptoms...like... at ALL and this started at around 9 am and lasted all day. I just figured they were BH. Then around 11 pm I started to get this weird feeling in my gut. Something just did not seem right. I think what made me really worried was the fact that LO wasn't active as usual. My bf and mom were telling me don't worry about it babies aren't ALWAYS active.... but this just seemed too strange to me.... the tightening kept coming, and I just couldn't sit around and wonder so my bf and I went to the hospital. I got there around 1:30 am...
Come to find out I was having REAL contractions, and I was 3cm dilated O_O. Haha I called my mom and told her and she was completely shocked. Anywaaaay... I progressed extremely fast. At 5-6cm I got something to take my mind off of the pain It started with an N and it just made me forget the pain existed for like... 30 mins. I was pretty zen the whole time which made my nurses love me, but man.... that pain.... what made it worse was that my waters hadn't broken and so I got all the way to 10 cm and had to wait for the doctor to finally come to break it. Once that happened I was in heaven..... then the pushing. Seriously... pushing was such a relief I can't even describe it. I think I pushed for about 10 mins..... the doctor pretty much left it all up to me. I was in control which I think made everything so much easier. I have to say this experience was amazing.....
