Baby is here - don't change your mind now!

Our baby has arrived! Yellow bump turned pink, and I couldn't be happier. However, DH now says he is not sure about our middle name. We've already announced at least her first name, so that is set.

Proposed name: Eleanor Gray Bellamy. Likely nicknamed Nora.

TBH, he is now saying that the middle name reminds him of porn star Sasha Grey. We've actually mostly been calling her Eleanor, so I'm trying to point out that maybe it's the Nora Gray that remind him Sasha Grey.

I don't have any rhyme or reason for wanting Gray as a middle name. I wanted a short name, given the length of the first and last names. I felt like Gray was one of those Fay/May/Rae names, but had a bit more gravitas.

I'm not really keen on coming up with a new name, particularly since we had talked about this before she arrived. We've got 3 days left before we have to make it official, so I just need to find a way to convince him not to change.

Was there any other names you both liked. It's hard when you only have a few days but it would be nice if you both loved the name.

I like it a lot too! It all flows so nicely together, and the middle name adds a uniqueness and sophistication - I would never think of a porn star, but I'm not a guy....I think after a few more days, your LO will "own" that name and any other associations will fall away. Hope you can get DH to stick with it! And congrats!!

Well, when visitors ask about the name, I've been telling them that the middle name is undecided, but that I want it to be Gray. Since he has no suggestions of his own to offer up as alternates, I may well win this one.

We ended up compromising with Eleanor Skye. He actually agreed to Gray, but then looked unhappy after we sent the paperwork off, so I told him to go get it back and we'd think about it some more. As much as I loved Eleanor Gray, it's his child too, and I want both of us to be happy with the name.
