My baby is head down position, engaged. I only feel his movements when I am sitting on the computer chair. He is silent the rest of the times. I feel him deep in my pelvis and sort of gentle pushes. :)

I wonder if it hurts his head or reduced his breathing space.

my baby has pretty much always been like this, strangely the only times i remember him moving when im standing/walking is when ive been in ASDA!:haha:

usually i have to be sitting, slouching or lying down to feel him properly.
Mine has always been head down and is now fully engaged.

Most women find babies are more active when mum is relaxed anyway, mine mostly wriggles when I'm in bed or sat down. While you're moving around the baby is often lulled to sleep by the movement, also while you're active your mind can be on other things and you simply don't notice. When checking for movement the advice is always to sit or lie quietly.

It could also be the way your organs are arranged when in the sitting position. It won't be making baby uncomfy, its just that you feel baby's movements when the uterus wall bumps into your other organs - there are no nerve endings in the uterus so its always your bladder or tum etc that's picking up the nerve signal. Perhaps baby gets a better shot at them when you're sitting hehe!

hi there, I am 38 weeks and always feel a lot more movement when I am on the sofa or in bed, I dont think they move less but maybe we just notice it less.

I have heard that walking movement rocks the baby to sleep so it might be that when you are up and moving, baby is snoozing.

My consultant told me you should feel at least 10 movements a day but also if there is any change from your usual pattern, call your midwife.

Also it may depend on where your placenta is lying as that could affect how you feel the movements maybe.

Although I feel movements quite alot they are definitely more obvious when I am sitting down, This is my 4th pregnancy though and its likely lo wont engage until I go into labour although he is starting to head that way at 4/5 so movement isnt as restricted as it would be if he was ( or at least thats what I would think!)

If you are worried you should speak to your midwife though :)

Depending on how you are sitting you may just be squeezing him a bit. I have started sitting on a ball in front of the computer...means I can sit leaning forward, soles of feet together!
