Basically I was in slow labour for 2 days. I knew something was happening but it kept stopping and starting. At 6.45pm on the 26th I realised my period pains were coming every 2-3 minutes for 20 seconds. I called delivery suite and explained that they don't hurt but since my daughters labour was so fast could I be checked out. I got there and she said I didn't look like I was in labour but she's been wrong before. Checked me, completely effaced and 3cm. She said I could stay or go. I felt like I should stay so I did. They sent me over to the midwife led birthing unit pretty quick. I spent the rest of my labour walking around outside because I was so hot. (although she told me if my waters break to run back so I didn't go far. I only pushed for 15 minutes the first time so she expected this one to come pretty quick) My midwife was so supportive and let me do whatever I felt comfortable doing. She even checked his heartbeat every 15 minutes, letting me back out every time, with me standing up because that's how I felt most comfortable! By 9pm the contractions were coming every minute and lasting 40 seconds. They were still really bearable. She checked me at 11pm, 7cm dilated. At 4am they had slowed down a little, to 2 minutes apart, but were lasting a minute or so. She decided to break my waters at 4.30. Unfortunately when she did there was a little bit of meconium, the smallest trace, she said she could have ignored it but she shouldn't. So at 7cm dilated and with my waters broken I walked over to delivery suite. She hooked me upto the monitor, got the resuss in as a precaution but she said she was 99% sure he would be absolutely fine. He was born half an hour later at 5.14am after 2 pushes and my midwife not being able to get her gloves on weighing 8lbs 5oz :)

I had an awesome labour this time around and the midwife made all the difference! No pain relief, I can't believe I actually managed to stand my ground and not give in to anything.

Feeling very proud of myself <3

Lots of photos
