Hi everyone! On Thursday I posted I was going in unexpectedly for a c-section. We'd been hoping for a VBAC and I was struggling with deciding whether or not to accept a planned c-section just the week before.
Thursday afternoon I had an appointment with my high risk MFM doctor for my last BPP. The doctor spent a long time scanning me and told me he was having a hard time finding enough fluid around the baby. He wound up only finding 2 small pockets of fluid after almost an hour of looking. He called my OB and sent me straight to the hospital. I was a mess and my husband was almost an hour away with our daughter. Thankfully my aunt came with me so I didn't have to be alone until my husband arrived. They gave me a hard time to let me daughter in to see me before the surgery. I cried saying goodbye to her.
After what seemed like an eternity waiting, I walked myself into the OR at 9 pm. I was terrified but did my best to hold it together. I got my spinal right away and it was really almost painless. Everyone in the OR was amazingly nice and that made the experience so much easier since I was nervous. They even played music. I felt a lot of pressure when they were pushing to get her out but other than that it was a good experience surprisingly.
Our little princess Rosalia Anna was born on July 11 at 9:41 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 3 oz. and is 18 inches long. When she was born, the doctors all commented on how beautiful her face was. She's just perfect to us and we are so thrilled to have a healthy little girl. Our daughter is in love with her little sister and we are all home together now.
My OB confirmed that there wasn't much fluid around the baby. I feel so relieved and lucky that my MFM doctor picked up the problem and that my baby girl is here healthy, happy, and safe.
Rosalia is breastfeeding like a little champ and is such a calm, sweet baby. Even though I didn't have the VBAC delivery I wanted, my daughter was born healthy and that's all that matters. I'm recovering much faster and easier with this planned section as opposed to the emergency section after induction with my first. Thank you to everyone here who has given me advice and support through all of my tough times
. Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies!
