Baby shower ideas, let's share!

So this is my first, I'm from the UK and baby showers aren't a BIG thing. Well, I've never been to one, but saying that I don't have many pregnant friends or close friends with children.

My sister said she wants to organise it, but I have no idea what to expect and also I guess I'd like to share ideas with her so I still feel a little involved!

What have you guys done for baby showers in the past, or what are you going to do this time round?

I'm having a boy, October 20th, so it'll be autumn time too.
Oh, and what week in pregnancy do you typically have your shower? I don't want it too early, or too late. And if it helps I'm going on maternity leave from my job at around September 5th.

I'm having my shower July 26th! I'll be 32 weeks. We are doing a really cute blue giraffe theme! And we will be having a taco bar, cake, punch, games etc!

My shower is also july 26 ill be 30 weeks, my family and i are organizing it

Ha must be a popular day I'm having mine jul26 as well I'll be 30 weeks. Most likely it will be for both girls and guys more of a picnic barbecue style at my sisters house. Were doing a simple purple theme. Still ironing out all the details. I just finished my registry.

I'm due October 21st, but im having a girl. My Aunt in law is planning it for me. They insisted I have one, I wasn't crazy about it. She pretty much told me its gonna be a dinner with gifts kinda thing. Everyones a little crazy about this baby.

They told me it was going to be in the middle sept, so I will be close to 34/36 weeks depending on when they plan it.

I'm having a shower and my sons party at the same time. We didn't want to ask people to come to two occasions, so it's just one big luau! Tons of food and sweets, games and the pool. We are having a silly photo booth, music and limbo
