Hi everyone, on monday i had my final scan, the baby is weighing at 6Ibs 1oz, the lady doing the scan said this was fine and so did the OB when i seen her afterwards, but reading a few threads i noticed that alot of the babys on hear are weighing at nearly 7Ibs at this stage, should i be worried, is my baby going to be a low birth weight and how much weight can i expect her to put on if i go full term

According to BabyCenter the average fetal weight at 36 weeks is 5.78lbs, so that would actually put your LO slightly ahead of the curve (https://www.babycenter.com/average-fetal-length-weight-chart).

Assuming you go full term and your baby gains roughly a half pound a week she should end up at around 8lbs - not small by any means!

I had one yesterday and he's measuring 6lb 6oz and the sonographer commented that it was a perfect weight!

You can't really rely on these estimated weights I had a scan at 36 weeks with my oldest boy he was measuring just over 6 lbs on ultrasound and I had to be induced the next day since my fluid was really low he weighed 7lbs 4oz at birth :) they were a lb off! My 2nd was estimated at 7lb 4oz at 36 weeks and born at 39weeks weighing 8lb 14oz!

Scans after 20 weeks can be inaccurate at estimating weight, with that, all babies grow at difference sizes. Some of us will birth a perfectly healthy five pound baby at full term, well some of may deliver a healthy ten pound baby at birth.

I had a scan yesterday, and the tech said she weighs 5.5 lbs. She said my baby was as average as average could be :) And to be prepared for a 7.5 lb baby.

At my 36 week scan my baby was estimated to weigh 5lb 6oz so I think all is well and you don't need to worry. Like someone else said, they can be a lb out.

my last scan at 35+5 my baby weighed 6lbs 3oz, but like others have said it can be a few ounces to a pound difference either way :)
