Anyone got any idea how I can tell the difference between labour and back ache, I woke with backache which I generally don't suffer with any way I been trying to ease it by leaning on my ball but it's still there I been up since 715 am, I occasionally get a tight feeling on bump but not enough to scream labour how long would u wait till seeing midwife ??

Any other symptoms?
Keep an eye on the timings of tightenings they could well be early contractions
I'm not sure if a MW would have you go to hospital just on back ache at 36weeks, but I could be wrong, they always say to call no matter how trivial things seem.

I went to toilet earlier and had a thick clumpy discharge heavily streaked with brown about thesizeof 50 p back stopped for abit and then started again I guess I shud just keep an eye so to speak lol

You will notice the pain getting progressively worse and the tightening's becoming more regular and longer if its labour. How are you doing now?

My labour started as just back ache, I woke up with it the day I went into labour. It was a slightly different back ache to anything I'd had before but I'm not sure how it just felt different. By the afternoon I was having what I thought were bh but were actually contractions, I'd keep an eye on it and maybe phone if it stays the same for a little while.
